This viral video shows a woman construction worker climbing an unstable ladder with her child in her arms while balancing a heavy load of bricks.

It is difficult to watch. She is risking her own safety and her child’s. Just imagine what one slipping brick, or one missed step, could cause. The discomfort created in watching it is exactly the point

We often celebrate women for how much they can endure. But she should not have to face such danger to earn a living. The question is whether she has a safer way to work and someone to care for her child while she does.

True empowerment means safe workplaces, fair pay, dignity at work and childcare support. It also means recognising the strain on a woman’s mental health when earning a living leaves so little room for safety, rest or support.

So don’t just admire her strength. Question the conditions that demand it.

Cyber safety must begin before children start using digital devices independently.

Some of the youngest participants at the fifth edition of Cyber Panchayat were little children.

The purpose was not to encourage mobile phone or internet use, but to introduce them to simple, age-appropriate safety habits:

* Use digital devices only under the supervision of a parent or teacher.
* Never interact with strangers online.
* Do not click unknown links or open suspicious messages.
* Never share personal information, photographs, passwords or OTPs.
* Tell a trusted adult immediately if anything online feels frightening or uncomfortable.

Cybersecurity expert Raksh*t Tandon explained these lessons through simple examples that children could understand. Parents were also sensitised about cyber fraud, unsafe online gaming, cyberbullying, social media risks and their responsibility to supervise children’s access to technology.

Organised at Career Global School, Bakshi Ka Talab, the programme was the fifth edition of Cyber Panchayat, a joint initiative of Psy-Naree Welfare Foundation and RT Cyber Academy to take cyber awareness to rural and semi-urban communities.

Preparing the future of our country to be cyber-safe does not begin by placing phones in children’s hands. It begins by placing awareness in young minds and responsibility in adult hands.

When hybrid seeds began replacing traditional crops, Rahibai Soma Popere refused to let India’s rich farming heritage disappear.
With no formal education and little financial support, she spent decades collecting, preserving, and sharing indigenous seeds.
Her dedication led to the creation of a community seed bank that safeguards 120+ native crop varieties and has inspired thousands of farmers to value and preserve traditional agricultural knowledge.

Her extraordinary contribution earned her the Padma Shri—but her greatest achievement is perhaps much bigger: protecting India’s agricultural biodiversity and securing a more sustainable future, one seed at a time.

Her story reminds us that you don’t need a degree, wealth, or a powerful position to create change. Sometimes, all it takes is one person who refuses to let something valuable disappear. ❤️
