If you've lost your appetite, you must try this pickle.

Makings:

1. Maakaali kizhangu
2. Turmeric powder
3. Chilli powder
4. Mustard powder
5. Lemon
6. Salt

Prep:

1. Wash and soak the Maakaali kizhangu for 3 to 4 hours. Then peel the skin, cut it in half, remove the hard centre part, & then cut the rest into small pieces.

2. To that, add turmeric, chilli, & mustard powder, salt, & lemon juice.

3. Mix well, put it in a glass jar (no metal containers) and close it. Let it marinate for 2 days at room temperature. After that, you can store it in the fridge. It will last for a year if stored well.

NOTE: Instead of chilli and mustard powder, you can soak dry chilli and mustard, grind it into a fine paste and add it to the kizhangu. And instead of lemon, you can add curd too.

Benefits:

Maakaali kizhangu - Reduces pitham and kabham, and keeps the body cool.

Turmeric, lemon, mustard - Helps to maintain humoral (vatham, pitham, kabham) balance.

Chilli - Improves blood circulation.

Salt - Other than its medicinal properties, it acts as a natural preservative.

Though it is a healthy food, it is best to take it in small amounts.

WATER is the best morning drink!

1. When we wake up at the same time every day, our bodies produce energy-boosting hormones to make ourselves ready for that day. So, we don't need a stimulant like coffee/tea to boost ourselves.

As our body has already produced natural stimulants needed to kick start our day, a stimulant as the first thing in the morning overstimulates our body, which is not good.

2. Throughout the night, our body fights many unwanted things and packs them as waste to send off as soon as we wake up. When we drink water as the first thing in the morning, it helps our body to flush out those wastes.

3. Naturally, body heat increases in the morning. So to cool the constantly working body, we need water, not a heat inducer (stimulant).

Eat dosa without bloating with this simple, age-old recipe.

சம்பாரத் தோசை (Sambara dosa)

Recipe by Siddhar Agasthiyar.
Reference - Gunapadam Moooligai Book, page no. 609

Ingredients:

1. Dosa batter - Traditional rice (eg. காளான் சம்பா - Kaalan samba)+ Black gram + Fenugreek
2. Asafoetida (Dry roasted)
3. Ginger (Peeled)
4. Black pepper (Dry roasted)
5. Curry leaves

Traditional rice, like kaalan samba, provides immense strength.

Black gram nourishes the body and strengthens the nerves.

Fenugreek, Asafoetida, Ginger, and Black pepper are Thirithoda samapotrukal, which means they help to maintain humoral balance (Vadham, Pitham, Kabham) and overall well-being.

Along with that, curry leaves reduce heat and relieve digestive issues.

On the whole, this age-old recipe will relieve flatulence, reduce pitham and kabham, and increase vitality and s***m count, as mentioned in Siddhar Agathiyar's poem.

As this dosa reduces heat, it is best to have it for breakfast. Make it, Eat it, Feel it.

Note:

1. Just because it's a healthy food, don't eat too much; eat according to your hunger. Remember, too much of anything is bad.

2. Add the last 4 ingredients to the batter before making dosa.

3. Add ingredients according to the batter quantity.

Rough calculation: For 1 person (4 dosa), 1 inch of peeled and grated ginger, 2 pinches of black pepper (dry-roasted and powdered), 1 pinch of asafoetida (dry-roasted and powdered), and a few curry leaves.

3. The dosa shouldn't be made with overly fermented batter, as it can cause digestive issues.

4. Freshly ground dosa batter can be kept for 2 days, not more than that, so grind accordingly.

5. Don't make masala or cheese dosa out of it, just have it as mentioned to get the benefits. Have it along with vegetable sambar or chutney (not too spicy, tangy, salty).

Try it and comment on your experience.

YOU BECOME WHAT YOU BELIEVE

Remember,

1. The food we eat
2. The way we live
3. The things we put on our skin
4. What we feed our minds

can make us healthy or sick.

"We become what we believe"
Our own thoughts can be our bff or our worst enemy, because our thoughts can change the chemistry within our body, which can either make us healthy or sick. What we constantly think about becomes the instruction for our body; be mindful of what you feed.

"Magic happens when we believe in it without doubt"
When we shift our thoughts from negative to positive, everything works out. Constantly think that you are healthy, happy, strong, and safe, and you will start to notice changes in your body.

Think positively! This can be a missing part in your healing journey.

We can't build a great building on a weak foundation. A strong foundation is the key to a successful building, right?

Atoms are the basic unit of our cells, and atoms are nothing but energy.

As atoms build us, having enough energy = healthy cells, tissues, and organs = healthy us.

Raw foods such as fruits, vegetables, sprouted nuts, and seeds have more energy than cooked foods. Having them regularly increases our energy.

Along with that -

1. Remove bad foods
2. Do fasting
3. Clean the physical, emotional, and mental body
4. Do meditation
5. Do breathing exercises
6. Have a sun and moon bath
7. Do grounding
8. Spend time with Nature

Doing all these together increases our energy, which means we can stay healthy.

Strengthen the foundation (energy) to have a strong building (body).

It's time.

Do you know? We are all spirits, living in human bodies during our time on Earth.

Spirit, in simpler words, is the true you - more aware and conscious.

Our spirit knows how to live in this world and has all the answers we seek. But many of us don’t realise this, so we keep looking outside and end up feeling lost.

To reconnect with our spirit, here are some simple steps:

1. Reduce screen time – Too much entertainment distracts us and disconnects us from ourselves.

2. Be aware – Pay attention to your surroundings and actions. Think!

3. Spend time with Nature – We are basically an energy, remember it! So, Nature time is vital for us - Period.

4. Eat mindfully – Choose high-frequency and living foods. Take care of your body, but don’t obsess over it—it’s just the vessel for your spirit.

5. Breathe consciously – Conscious breathing is vital for unobstructed energy flow (Chakras - Endocrines).

6. Meditate – Let go of baggage and connect with your higher self.

These steps help us tune in to our inner wisdom and live with more clarity and peace.

Happy Ayudha Poojai

On this day, we honour our tools. This is a gentle reminder that our body is also a tool. Our body is the tool for our soul and spirit to live in this world.

Work ship the body! Body = Temple

Keep the body clean and healthy, and let the soul and spirit live freely.

Detox regularly and periodically.

Remove all the harmful things that harm your body and obstruct you from feeling the God within you.

Fuel the body with the right food suitable for our species.
