Ovaries and the etymology of Aries,
• “Ov” = (Greek) a root word meaning egg. “Oveja” (Spanish), “Oven/Ovan” (Russian/Eastern European).
• “Aries” = proto-Indo-European for a small domesticated animal, Latin for ram in the military sense, “Ares” (Greek) for the constellation in the shape of ram’s horns. Associated with the Egyptian god Amon-Re.
• This is the time of year the Earth Ovulates, the seed of Life is planted.
• Aries is ruled by Fire and Mars, both relevant to Menstrual blood which runs on Pitta and ovulation/birth cycle the impulse of Mars to burst forth.
• The Nakshatra Bharani (a constellation in the shape of a Yoni) is in the heart of Aries, centrally located, it is doesn’t transit Aries, it permanently resides in Aries, but the Moon transits through this heart of Aries monthly.
• Bharani is the second lunar mansion, symbolized by the Yoni and ruled by Venus, represents creativity, nurturing, and intense transformation. Governed by Yama (the god of death/dharma, linking the Yoni to rebirth.
• This is where it all begins, a new cycle of the year, the breeding season, the R’tu Kaala.
• The sacred Womb of our bodies is powered by sacred Fire – feminine and fierce.
• Initiation, gestation and birthing and rebirthing.
• This is what Aries is always about and this year we have the 7 planet Stellium in Aries!
