Why does PCOS affect sleep?

Endocrine disruption

Psychological factors

Anxiety and depression are common in women with PCOS and can contribute to sleep disruption.

Circadian rhythm disorders

PCOS can cause circadian rhythm disorders, which can affect sleep.

How to improve sleep with PCOS?

Create a sleep-friendly environment: Keep your bedroom dark, quiet, and at a comfortable temperature.

Reduce screen time: Limit your use of electronic devices before bed.

Avoid stimulants: Don't drink caffeine or alcohol within a few hours of going to bed.

Avoid big meals: Don't eat a large meal within a few hours of going to bed.

Avoid intense exercise: Don't exercise vigorously right before bed.

Stick to a consistent sleep schedule: Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day.

Lightening is when the uterus drops near the end of the third trimester as baby begins to settle and become engaged in the pelvis! Lots of people think this is a sign of labor, but it can actually happen a few weeks before you go into labor or may happen during labor. 💡🤰🏾

Some people find it easier to breathe after baby drops, but with that relief comes a different type discomfort... needing to p*e more! 🚽

Some people will see their abdomen change shape slightly while others won’t notice it at all. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Did you notice your abdomen change shape when your baby dropped? How many weeks were you when your baby dropped? 👶🏻

THE HEALTHIEST SEEDS AND HOW THEY HELP

Seeds are the beginning of life for a plant – that’s why they are extremely nutritious and have been shown to guard against many degenerative diseases. They’re a great alternative if you have nut allergies, and actually contain more minerals and protein than most nuts.

Which should you be eating and why? (Remember to hit SAVE so you can refer back to our handy list):

🔸Sunflower: Our hair is made from protein, and sunflower seeds are excellent for complete and easily digested protein. They also contain Vitamin E that has been found to increase blood supply to the scalp, resulting in longer hair.

🔸Pumpkin: With excellent levels of easily absorbed zinc, pumpkin seeds can help to boost fertility in men and women. Zinc performs a critical role in the development of s***m and in the entire reproductive system of women.

🔸Chia: A rich, natural source of plant Omega-3 fats that have been shown consistently in studies to help heart health, reducing risk of cardiovascular disease.

🔸Black sesame: These small but mighty seeds contain melanin, the natural pigment that can reverse graying (and also help protect against UV rays). Their powerful antioxidants can help counteract oxidative stress, a major cause of gray hair.

🔸Flax: High levels of lignans - gentle plant hormones in flax - have been shown to improve symptoms of hormonal imbalance including PMS, breakouts, and hot flashes. Try 1tbsp ground flax daily.

🔸Hemp: The Omega-6 fat gamma linoleic acid (GLA) in h**p seeds encourages skin cells to regenerate, whilst improving moisture in the skin.
