Annandita is 16 years and walked into class at 13 — curious, distracted, forgetful… and completely herself. Instructions would float past her, corrections wouldn’t always land, and for the first two months, I was simply trying to understand her world.
And then something shifted — in me. I stopped correcting every little thing. I let her be…
And in that space of ease, she began to grow… at her own pace.
That was my lesson.
Each person is different. Each learning curve is different. Not everyone fits into a neat, square box and as teachers, that’s something we must constantly remember. Yoga isn’t about forcing alignment, it’s about allowing unfolding…
It’s about patience, compassion, and the ability to let go.
And sometimes, it’s the students who remind us of these lessons the most 🥹
Today, she stands as one of my oldest practitioners. Still playful, still a little forgetful, and still someone I occasionally scold 😄 but deeply, deeply cherished.
Children teach us far more than they’ll ever know.
Here’s to growing — not perfectly, but honestly 👹
