🏥 *When a 2-inch piece of plastic almost cost a man his life…*

A few days ago, we treated one of the most unusual trauma cases I've seen.

An e-rickshaw driver was struck by a speeding car. The impact was so severe that the handlebar *penetrated his abdomen*. Bystanders at the scene — with good intentions — pulled the handle out before the ambulance arrived.

What nobody knew was that the plastic cover of the handle — just 2 inches long — had broken off inside his body and was sitting silently *behind his urinary bladder*. 😮

In the operating room, through careful and thorough surgical exploration, we were able to locate and safely remove this hidden foreign body. The bladder and surrounding organs were unharmed.

Today, he is home. Safe. Alive. 🙏

This case taught us two important lessons I want to share:

✅ *Never remove an impaled object at the scene.* It may be the only thing preventing massive bleeding. Always leave it for medical professionals.

✅ *In penetrating trauma, what you see is not always all there is.* A thorough surgical exploration can be the difference between life and death.
