🌿 MOLLUSCUM CONTAGIOSUM — DO’S & DON’TS
Managing molluscum contagiosum is not only about treating the lesions—it is also about preventing unnecessary spread and skin irritation.
✅ DO • Maintain good hand and skin hygiene
• Keep lesions covered when appropriate
• Avoid sharing towels, clothing and personal items
• Keep nails short to reduce scratching-related spread
• Seek medical advice if lesions become inflamed, painful or infected
❌ DON’T • Scratch, squeeze, pick or attempt to remove the lesions
• Share towels, clothing or other items that contact affected skin
• Shave or wax directly over affected areas
• Apply unprescribed treatments that may irritate the skin
🔍 A SIMPLE RULE:
Don’t pick • Don’t share • Don’t spread
Molluscum contagiosum is generally a benign and self-limiting viral skin infection, but appropriate precautions can help reduce transmission and skin complications.
