Some people who say “I don’t need anyone” aren’t emotionally cold.
They simply learned very early that depending on others often led to disappointment, rejection, inconsistency, or emotional pain.
So they became self-reliant. Independent. Emotionally guarded.
Not because they never wanted love— but because their nervous system learned that relying on people didn’t always feel safe.
Healing is not forcing yourself to need people again.
It’s slowly teaching yourself that safe connection still exists.
