Some days will feel harder than others. And that’s okay. 💙................................
As a nephrologist, I see courage every single day — in my patients who show up, take their medicines, follow their diet, and keep going even when it gets tough..................................
Progress in kidney disease isn’t always about numbers on a report.........................................
Sometimes it’s just showing up one more day.

To every patient fighting silently —
I see you. I’m proud of you.
Keep trusting the process. Keep trusting your doctor.
And most importantly — keep trusting yourself.
Small steps taken consistently will always beat big leaps taken in panic. 🕊️
Save this for the days you need a reminder. 🔖

A little note from my heart to yours. 💌
-———————
I wrote this for every kidney patient who has ever felt like they’re not doing enough — or not healing fast enough.
Your journey is not a race.
——————
I see patients every day who quietly follow their diet, take their medicines on time, never miss a follow-up — and still feel disheartened because their creatinine didn’t drop as fast as they hoped.
—————————
But here’s what I want you to know as your doctor —
Improvement often begins quietly, long before it becomes visible.
———————
Your body is working. Your efforts are working.

That extra glass of water you avoided? That counts. ✅
That late-night samosa you said no to? That counts. ✅
That appointment you almost skipped but still came to? That counts. ✅
-———————————
Don’t measure yourself against someone else’s recovery.
Focus on your today. Trust your process. Keep showing up. 💙
Save this for the hard days. 🔖

Aam, Kela, Santra — some of our most beloved fruits. 🥭🍌🍊
But if you have kidney disease, these could be silently harming you.
-————
Let me explain why. 👇
These fruits are high in potassium — a mineral that healthy kidneys filter out easily. But when kidneys are weak or you’re on dialysis, potassium builds up in the blood.
-——————
And high potassium can cause —
⚡ Muscle weakness
💓 Irregular heartbeat
🚨 In severe cases — cardiac arrest
—————
I’m not saying this to scare you.
I’m saying this because I wish more patients knew this before it was too late.
-————
Here’s what I tell my patients every day —
✅ Healthy kidneys? Most fruits are fine in moderation
✅ CKD or Dialysis? Your diet MUST be customized
✅ Never follow a generic diet chart — always consult your nephrologist or dietitian
——————
Your favourite fruit is not worth risking your heart. 💙

🌍 Happy World Environment Day!
As a doctor, I talk about clean blood, clean kidneys, filtered toxins every single day.
But today, let me talk about something bigger —
What happens when the environment itself becomes the toxin? 🌿
Here’s what most people don’t know 👇
As a nephrologist, I’m increasingly seeing patients whose kidney damage is linked not just to diabetes or BP —
but to the world around them.
🏭 Air pollution → increases oxidative stress → damages kidney cells
🚰 Contaminated water → heavy metals like lead & arsenic → silent kidney poison
🌡️ Rising heat → dehydration → kidney stones & acute kidney injury
🧴 Chemical exposure → pesticides in food → slow but steady renal damage
A sick planet creates sick kidneys.
And healthy kidneys need a healthy Earth. 🫘💚
This World Environment Day, my pledge as a doctor —
To keep reminding my patients that healing begins outside the clinic too.
Plant a tree. Drink clean water. Reduce plastic. Protect the air.
Because every small act of caring for the Earth is also an act of caring for your kidneys. 💙
What’s your pledge today? Tell me in the comments. 👇

Good news for kidney patients — there’s a fruit you can actually enjoy! 🍇
————
As a nephrologist, one of the most common questions I get is —
“Doctor, what can I eat?”
————
And it breaks my heart a little every time, because kidney patients are already giving up so much.
————
So today, let me give you something to ADD to your plate. 😊
Grapes 🍇 — one of the best fruits for kidney health.
————
Here’s why I recommend them —

🫘 Protects kidney tissues — natural compounds called resveratrol and flavonoids help shield your kidneys from damage
🩸 Improves blood flow — better circulation means better oxygen delivery to your organs
❤️ Heart friendly — kidney patients have higher cardiac risk, and grapes support heart health too
And the best part?
—————
They’re low in potassium compared to bananas, mangoes & oranges —
making them a safer choice for most CKD patients.
A small bunch of grapes a day can be a big win for your kidneys. 💙
Of course — always check with your doctor before making dietary changes, especially if you’re on dialysis. Every patient is different.

☀️ Honestly, the heat has become unbearable these days, hasn’t it? 🥵🧊

In this scorching sun and humidity, even looking at heavy meals like roti and sabzi sometimes feels exhausting… many people simply don’t feel like eating proper food. A lot of you often DM me or ask during OPD visits,
“Ma’am, during summers we don’t feel like eating meals… can we survive on fruits instead? And if yes, which fruits are actually good for our health and especially for our kidneys?”
___________________
So I thought, why not talk about it openly today!
____________________
Let’s discuss a small but magical fruit that can become your kidney’s best friend this summer — Blueberries!.....................
🔹 What makes blueberries so special?

*High in Antioxidants
During summer, keeping the body clean from within is very important. These tiny berries are packed with antioxidants that help fight toxins and oxidative stress.

*Protects Kidney Cells
Blueberries help protect kidney cells from damage, supporting better kidney function over time.
______________________________
*Gentle on the Kidneys
They are naturally low in sodium and potassium, which means they don’t put extra pressure on your kidneys.

*A small suggestion from me:

Whenever you feel hungry during hot afternoons but don’t feel like eating heavy food, just take out some chilled blueberries from the fridge and enjoy them. They’ll cool your body, refresh your mood, and your kidneys will silently thank you too.
👇 By the way, what’s your favorite fruit during summer that makes you feel refreshed? Tell me in the comments — I’d love to know!...............................
