Eye Education Series: Herpes Dendritic Ulcer:

Usually complaints of patients are - foreign body sensation, watering and mild redness often following some dust injury.

Signs:
- Mild Conjunctival congestion
- Reduced corneal sensation
- Stains brightly on Fluorescein staining

Treatment
- Topical antivirals
- Lubricating drops

Usually takes 2-3 weeks for complete resolution.

Can recur during episodes of low immunity

We just performed a corneal transplant (keratoplasty) for a patient whose vision was severely compromised by corneal decompensation. The damaged cornea was replaced with healthy donor tissue, giving her renewed clarity and hope.
