Watch till the end 🪁

The latest season of Bridgerton gives us the ultimate ā€œCinderellaā€ fantasy, but it’s the quiet moments between Benedict and Sophie that hold the real magic.

Take the Kite Scene. It starts with a little bit of ego and a lot of doubt. Sophie mocks him, questioning his skills—a moment we’ve all had in our relationships where we default to ā€œplayfulā€ skepticism that can sometimes sting.

But then, the shift happens. Benedict doesn’t get defensive; he shows her. And Sophie? She doesn’t double down. She offers a gentle apology and, more importantly, she joins him in the wonder.

The Psychological Shift:
Couples often get stuck in a ā€œCriticism Loop.ā€ When doubt seeps in, we tend to judge our partner’s ā€œunrealisticā€ ideas to protect ourselves from disappointment. But psychologists call what Sophie does next ā€œRelational Attunement.ā€
She pauses her judgment to acknowledge his vision. By extending her faith, the kite—and their connection—finally takes flight.

Something to reflect on ✨
What if we paused before passing judgment?
What if, instead of being our partner’s toughest critic, we became their loudest supporter?
A shared vision only becomes a reality when both people are willing to hold the string.

How many times have you thought that ā€œfinding the oneā€ meant finding someone who would stop you in your tracks? (Just like those Bollywood-Hollywood Rom-Coms?)

In my therapy practice, I’ve seen that the most resilient couples aren’t the ones who bring their lives to a halt; they’re the ones moving towards the same vision. But how does that happen? Does one compel the other? Or do you choose a life partner who shares similar values and is ready to share the vision?

In psychological terms, it’s Relational Alignment.
It’s the shift from:
šŸŒ·ā€œAre we on the same page?ā€ to ā€œWe’re writing the same book.ā€
šŸŒ·ā€œDo you support my dream?ā€ to ā€œHow do we build our vision?ā€

When you have a shared vision, you don’t have to shrink to fit into their life, and they don’t have to compromise their pace to stay with yours. You just... walk. At the same speed. Toward the same ā€œWhy.ā€

So, this Valentine’s Day, go ahead and reflect with your partner: Are you simply holding hands, or are you walking towards a shared vision? šŸ«¶šŸ»

Before you swipe to the 2nd last slide (I used a trending prompt on ChatGPT, and I am loving it!), hear me out!

Many are simply rushing through time and the dates on the calendar. One flip and it’s already the new year! Before we know it, it’s February! ā€˜Where did the time go?’

Resolutions and vision boards get dumped in the corner of the room or somewhere in our phone’s storage if created in a digital format. We somehow try to catch hold of life. Until the time comes when stagnation and discomfort seeps in.

SLOW. TAKE A PAUSE. REFLECT. 🩵

Is this the life you want to live?
Why did you make that resolution list?
What is the deepest reason for making a vision board?
Who are you trying to prove?
What if you lived your dream life?
What would you do differently today?

A gentle reminder: New beginnings don’t start when the year changes. Rather they unfold when you make daily mindful shifts. So, go reflect. 🩵

You see the final product, the workshops, the content and ofcourse the therapist! But the magic is in the ā€œin-betweens.ā€ 🌼

As a mental wellness entrepreneur, my ā€œworkā€ isn’t just one thing.

It’s the strategic therapy sessions, the late-night research when creative hat gets on, the clinical hours, and the quiet moments of reflection that keep the vision alive.

I’m choosing to midnfully romanticize the hustle. It doesn’t mean I am delusional or pushing myself towards burnout over and over again. Rather, focusing on the positives alongside the challenges in building an honest mental wellness business.

If you have been following my page and supporting my work in anyway - Thank you! šŸ˜‡šŸ©µ

There’s a psychological reason your feed looks like 2016 again. šŸ•°ļøāœØ

As a psychologist, I find the current ā€œ2016-coreā€ trend fascinating. We aren’t just missing the music or the fashion; we are missing a specific neurological state of ease. In 2016, social media was a tool for connection, not just a marketplace for attention. We lived in a ā€œpre-optimizedā€ world where mistakes felt human rather than permanent.

In 2026, as we navigate the complexities of AI and a hyper-connected society, our brains are signaling a need for Digital Minimalist Joy. Nostalgia isn’t just ā€œliving in the past.ā€ When I thought of writing this post, I was nostalgic too - Thinking about my messy hair back then and trying to get a hang of the ā€˜CGM’ method for my curly hair or thinking of quitting my HR job back then after making an imperfect but first time canvas painting at one of the art workshops at the office!

But, a thought struck my mind. When we use nostalgia correctly, it becomes a tool for emotional regulation. It reminds us of a version of ourselves that knew how to play, how to be messy, and how to exist without a filter.

The Question(s): Which version of you lived in 2016, and what part of them do you need to invite back in this new year? Swipe through for more reflective questions. šŸ’œ
