🩺 High Blood Pressure (Hypertension): The Silent Threat You Shouldn't Ignore

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, often has no symptoms, making it one of the most dangerous hidden health conditions. Left unmanaged, hypertension can significantly increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney damage, vision loss, dementia, and other serious complications.

✅ The good news? A simple and accurate blood pressure check can help detect hypertension early and support better heart health.

How to Measure Blood Pressure Correctly

Getting an accurate blood pressure reading is essential for identifying and managing high blood pressure. Even small mistakes in posture or preparation can lead to incorrect results.

Before taking a blood pressure measurement:

✔ Sit comfortably with your back fully supported

✔ Keep your legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor

✔ Rest your arm on a table with the cuff positioned at heart level

✔ Ensure the blood pressure cuff is the correct size

✔ Relax and rest for at least 5 minutes before the reading

✔ Avoid talking during or between measurements

✔ Do not exercise, smoke, or consume tea, coffee, or caffeinated drinks for at least 30 minutes before checking your blood pressure

Why Accurate Blood Pressure Monitoring Matters
Regular and accurate blood pressure monitoring helps:

✅ Detect hypertension early

✅ Lower the risk of heart attack and stroke

✅ Track the effectiveness of treatment

✅ Improve long-term cardiovascular health

✅ Prevent complications caused by uncontrolled high blood pressure

Remember: High blood pressure is often called the "silent killer" because it can damage your body for years without noticeable symptoms. Regular blood pressure checks and proper measurement techniques can make a life-saving difference.

❤️ Know your numbers. Monitor your blood pressure regularly. Protect your heart and your future.

☕ Coffee and Health: Small Daily Habits Can Support Long-Term Wellness.

Regularly drinking black, caffeinated coffee (without additives, flavours, or sweeteners) has been linked to a lower risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

❤️☕ Drinking 2-4 cups of caffeinated coffee per day has also been associated with better heart health, including a lower risk of heart disease, heart failure and stroke.

⚠️ However, consuming more than 4 cups of coffee daily may increase the risk of heart failure.
