I had to say something after this recent case in the news. I feel so triggered seeing happy, educated women getting trapped in such situations. And they keep compromising, "adjusting".

Because abuse rarely starts with violence.

It starts with control.
With insults disguised as jokes.
With ‘adjust a little.’
With financial dependence.
With emotional blackmail.
With families saying "Marriage takes compromise."

Ye mere usual medical posts se different topic hai, but zaroori hai.

To all girls out there, stay alert and don't ignore red flags before marriage.

Janhit mein jaari..

Seriously, we see so many couples who seem to not be on the same page regarding kids, and bas family pressure mein try kar rahe hote hain.

So please plan kids only when you are ready..physically, emotionally and financially.

No baby deserves to be brought in this world without his/her parents fully on board. And in many cases, this leads to a form of pseudo-single parenting, and the burden more often than not falls on the mother.

Plan kids wisely.

Things patients say which worry me as a gynaecologist...

I have seen many patients ignore emergencies like bleeding, or decreased baby movements, or pain in abdomen.

When in doubt, talk to your doctor, or visit your hospital immediately!

"Thoda wait karke dekhte hain" ya "Subah hospital jayenge" aisa sochne mein bahaut baar hum wo window period miss kar jaate hain jisme treatment start kiya ja sakta hai.
