Thrilled to participate in the annual meeting of Arthroscopy Association of Uttar Pradesh at Lucknow, where I demonstrate a relive surgery of Inspace balloon spacer surgery for massive rotator cutt tear of the shoulder.
Surgical demonstration was very well received by fellow arthroscopy surgeons, sparking fantastic discussions on how this technology can change the way massive rotator cuff tears are managed in modern days.
What is the InSpace Balloon Spacer?
When a shoulder tendon (the rotator cuff) is completely torn and cannot be stitched back together, the bones in the shoulder can rub against each other. This causes intense pain and makes it hard to lift your arm. The InSpace device is a tiny, biodegradable balloon inserted through small keyhole incisions. Once in place, it acts like a soft cushion or pillow between the bones. This stops the painful friction, allows the shoulder to move smoothly again, and helps speed up recovery. Over time, the balloon safely dissolves on its own after your body has adapted.
