Many parents assume hearing tests are only needed if a child doesn’t respond to sounds. In reality, even mild hearing difficulties can affect speech, language, learning, and social development.

A hearing evaluation is recommended if your child:
• Has delayed speech or language development
• Doesn’t consistently respond to their name
• Frequently asks “What?”
• Has recurrent ear infections
• Missed or did not undergo newborn hearing screening
• Or if you simply have concerns about their hearing

Early assessment leads to early intervention—and that can make a significant difference in a child’s communication journey.

If you’re unsure whether your child needs a hearing evaluation, we’re here to help.

Every little milestone tells us something about how a child is listening, understanding and learning to communicate.

By around 12 months, children begin responding to their name, understanding familiar words, imitating sounds and using meaningful words or word-like sounds.

Every child develops at their own pace, but if you have concerns about your child’s hearing, listening or communication development, early guidance can help you understand the next steps.

Have questions about your child’s milestones?

A truly enriching experience at the 21st ‘I Hear Foundation Conference’, thanks to Dr. Milind V. Kirtane and the entire I Hear Foundation team led by Nish*ta Dinesh Mohandas for organizing an outstanding scientific program.

The thoughtfully curated topics, engaging discussions, and opportunities for learning, collaboration, and reconnecting with colleagues—while meeting many new professionals—made this conference especially rewarding.

We were honored to contribute through:

🔸Moderating the panel discussion, “Managing Habilitation in the Face of Socioeconomic Constraints,” alongside an exceptional panel of experts: Dr. Kashmira Chavan, Aziza Tyabji-Hydari, Kanchan Chavan, and Renuka Patel.

🔸Participating in the panel, “Managing the Difficult Cochlear Implant User: Real Cases, Real Solutions,” led by Fatema Jagmaag.

🔸Presenting a case study on Cochlear Implantation in a Recipient with a Long Interval Before Bilateral Implantation, highlighting the possibilities and outcomes even in complex clinical scenarios.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the exchange of knowledge and ideas. We look forward to continuing these conversations and to the next I Hear Foundation Conference! ✨
