THERAPY CENTRE ISN’T YOUR CHILD’S WORLD. THEIR WORLD IS MUCH BIGGER THAN THAT💜

A child’s learning doesn’t happen only during therapy sessions. It happens while playing, eating meals, following routines, having conversations, and being part of everyday family life.

At ARULA, we empower mothers to make therapy a part of life, not something separate from it. By turning everyday moments into meaningful opportunities for learning, connection and development, parents can support their child consistently without adding another burden to their day.

Because the person who shares the most everyday moments with a child can also become an important part of their learning journey.

HOME IS THE BEST THERAPY CENTER💜

“He’ll talk when he’s ready.”
“Boys talk late, it’s normal.”
“He understands everything, so his speech is fine.”

These are common things parents hear when a child is speaking less or later than expected. But waiting, comparing, or counting words alone doesn’t give the complete picture.

Speech is only one part of communication. Listening, understanding, connecting, interaction and the ability to express needs and thoughts all matter. A child may understand much more than they can say, and a persistent delay deserves attention rather than assumptions.

At ARULA, we look beyond speech and focus on the child’s whole communication journey. Because meaningful communication is more than a word count💜

At ARULA, we don’t measure communication by words alone❤️

We don’t force a child to repeat words just to make them speak, and we don’t chase perfect pronunciation or memorised responses just to show progress.

Instead, we focus on building the foundation that makes communication meaningful: listening, understanding, connecting and communicating. Because when a child genuinely understands and connects, communication can grow naturally through everyday experiences.

Because meaningful progress is more than just words💜

Your intention matters when you communicate with your child❤️

Instead of constantly asking questions like, “What is this?” “Which colour?” “What are you doing?”, use everyday moments to model language naturally.

If your child is playing with a red car, try: “Wow, you’re playing with a car! It’s red. Oh, is that a fire truck? My little fireman!”

The goal is not to test what your child remembers. Give meaningful input first, build listening and understanding, and let communication grow naturally❤️

My child isn’t talking yet. Is it speech delay or autism? ❤️

Not every child who speaks late has autism, and autism cannot be understood by looking at speech alone. The important question is to look beyond the number of words and understand the whole foundation of communication.

Does the child understand language? Do they seek interaction? How do they communicate their needs? How is their shared attention, behaviour and response to others? These aspects can give us a much clearer picture of the child’s developmental profile.

At ARULA, we believe don’t just count the words, understand the child. Listening, understanding, connecting and communicating are all important parts of development, because every child communicates differently❤️

A child’s sleep affects much more than bedtime. It affects the entire family❤️

When sleep is disrupted, the child may struggle with their daily routine, while parents, especially mothers, can also become exhausted from broken nights. And when a parent is sleep-deprived, actively engaging with the child throughout the day becomes much harder.

Building a predictable bedtime routine can help. Pay attention to the timing of the child’s last meal, include a calm massage as part of the bedtime routine, take the child to the bathroom before sleep, and gradually make the home environment quieter and calmer. Dim the lights, reduce loud television and noise, and create a consistent wind-down period before bedtime.

Sleep is not a small part of development. It is an important part of a child’s and family’s overall well-being🌙

Start observing your child’s sleep pattern and make small, consistent changes to the bedtime routine.

When a child shows hyperactivity, sensory concerns or behavioural challenges, the first question should not always be “How do I stop this behaviour?” It should be “Why is this happening?” ❤️

Pressure techniques may sometimes make a child appear calmer temporarily, but simply reducing a visible symptom does not necessarily address what is driving it. Looking deeper into the child’s communication, needs, triggers and responses can help parents understand the behaviour instead of reacting only to what they see.

At ARULA, the focus is on root cause analysis and understanding the child behind the behaviour. When parents learn to observe, reflect and identify what may be contributing to a concern, they can respond with greater awareness and the right strategies.

So the next time you notice a behaviour, pause before asking, “What should I do to stop this?” Ask, “What is my child trying to communicate, and why is this happening?”

Because understanding the root is where meaningful support begins❤️

For a child on the autism spectrum, progress may not always look like a dramatic change. Sometimes, it looks like participating in a school celebration, making better eye contact, trying something new, wearing something they once avoided, or becoming more comfortable in everyday situations.

These moments may seem small to someone else, but for a child and their family, they represent growth, confidence and new possibilities.

At ARULA, we believe that every child’s journey is unique. With the right guidance, consistent efforts and meaningful opportunities, those small steps can gradually become bigger milestones.

Because progress is progress, no matter how small. ❤️

When a child is not speaking yet, every family seems to have an explanation.
“He’ll speak late.” “His father also spoke late.” “Give him some more time.” But instead of relying only on assumptions, the first step is to understand why the child’s speech is delayed❤️

Speech delay can have different underlying factors, and early awareness can help parents seek the right assessment and guidance instead of simply waiting and watching. Understanding your child’s developmental needs is the first step toward making informed decisions about their support.

If you are a parent in Pune looking for clarity about your child’s development, ARULA for Autism is conducting an Autism Assessment Camp on 27th September at Hotel Orbett, Pune. The assessment fee is ₹2,000.

Don’t let assumptions decide your child’s developmental journey. Understand, assess and take the right step at the right time.
