Today is *holika-dahan* .
Burning and *death of holika,* *sister* of *Prahlad* , who had a *boon* that had *made her fire proof,* but it *didn't work when she sided* with her father king *Hiranyakashipu* , the *asura* , who *wanted* *all* the *world to worship him alone* , or be *punished* by *torture* and ultimately, *death* .

*Whenever* and wherever humanity *comes across* a *person* , a *being* . a *belief system* that *proclaims* *worship me - my God alone* , it is a *sign of an asura,* a titan, an *evil* or a *satanic egoistic entity* . And one will see that *it* will *use torture, cruelty,* violence, brute force or *killing* those who *refuse to submit to* such a *demand* . They by their *sheer ego* and *inhuman cruelty* ( cruelty always is), want to *subjugate humanity* and the world.

The *Holika-dahan* celebrated for millennia, is *embedded in India* is *to remind* again and again *how to recognise such evil.*

While *most* will *unconsciously celebrate* , those who *remember* and *study* will learn *lessons* and be *on guard against such evil* beings and *ideologies* .

It’s been 7 years since we inaugurated the new Oculus eye hospital on 2nd December 2018. It’s been 29 years since I started practice in Mumbai. The old Oculus eye hospital was established in 2004 at the same location in the old building. With the support of all patients old and new, we have been able to keep up with the latest technology in cataract surgery and grow from strength to strength.
