Disha Counseling Center is a premier counseling organisation in Mumbai. The team is headed by expert

Disha is a center dedicated to the mental health and vocational guidance of children, adolescents and adults since 1999. We render a variety of services, namely aptitude testing, career guidance, psychotherapy, family counseling and so forth. To help us in this endeavor we have a team of psychologists, counselors and remedial teachers. Our aim is to empower individuals to help themselves, as we believe that each individual is unique and has in him/her the potential to excel.

The mental health community lost one of its brightest stars on Friday. Adored by thousands of people who knew him - patients, families, doctors, psychologists- Dr. Anand Nadkarni was an inspiration. We, at Disha Counseling Center, deeply mourn the passing away of this iconic founder of the Institute for Psychological Health (IPH). It was Dr. Nadkarni and what he and his core team had achieved at IPH, that was the first inspiration behind Disha. The founders of Disha are deeply grateful for the path paved by Dr. Nadkarni, which was a beacon for so many of us over the past several decades.

Our senior psychologist, Ms. Poonam Ghadigaonkar, was invited to be a faculty for Maharashtra Times career guidance programme, organised by Times Education on the 9th and 10th of May. Titled ‘Maharashtra Times Planet Education Expo’, the programme was open to parents and students who have appeared for grades 10th and 12th exams this year. Poonam took the audience through the various career options in Commerce and Management-related fields.

A unique bridge programme for psychology postgraduates to transition into the work force

20 Hours of Training + 5 Hours of Case Supervision

Module 1: Fundamentals of Counseling and Psychotherapy: The Therapeutic Process, Counseling Micro Skills, Boundaries, Handling Challenging Situations

Module 2: Child Assessments: Various psychometric tools covered used with children will be covered in detail (WISC-IV, HTP, Developmental Assessment etc.). Test Administration, Interpretation, and Report Writing Guidelines will be covered.

Module 3: Child and Adult Mental Illnesses: DSM 5 Classification System, Mental Health and Mental Illness.

Module 4: Aptitude Testing and Career Guidance: The Career Guidance Process, Common Career Assessment Tools, Giving Career Recommendations, Online Career Guidance Portal

Module 5: Trauma Informed Mental Health Practice: Understanding Trauma, Basic Principles of Trauma Informed Care
