Tongue-Tie: More Than Just a Small Band of Tissue 👅

Tongue-tie (ankyloglossia) can restrict tongue movement and may affect speech, tongue posture and oral function. In some patients, altered tongue function may also contribute to spacing between the lower front teeth.

Early assessment helps determine whether treatment is actually needed. When indicated, frenotomy or frenuloplasty, combined with appropriate tongue exercises and speech therapy when required, can help restore function.

Don’t just look at the tongue-tie—assess how the tongue functions.

TMJ pain or jaw joint pain can be treated easily if diagnosed correctly. Temporomandibular disorder is a common problem with symptoms like clicking of joint and pain while mouth opening.
