I am deeply honoured to share that I have been selected to receive the Mrs. Swadesh & Prof. C.P. Bajaj Healthcare Award from the Capital Foundation Society, New Delhi, in recognition of my contribution to IVF and Women’s Health. The award will be presented by Former Chief Justice of India Justice Sanjiv Khanna, in the presence of Justice A.K. Patnaik, Chairman of the Foundation. Certificate.pdf

Established in 1987, the Capital Foundation Society is one of India’s respected non-profit public policy institutions, bringing together eminent judges, jurists, policymakers, academics and professionals to promote dialogue on issues of national importance. Over the years, it has honoured several distinguished personalities from the judiciary, law, healthcare, defence and public life, including Justice Indu Malhotra, Dr. Abhishek Singhvi, Mr. Aspi Chinoy, Mr. Harin Raval, Brig. Dr. Arvind Lal, and others.

I am truly grateful for this recognition and dedicate it to my teachers, colleagues, team members, and the thousands of patients who have entrusted me with their care over the past four decades.

“Happy Doctors Day “

A few days ago, while getting off a flight, I reached up to take my computer bag from the overhead locker. My name was written on the bag.

A gentleman a few seats away looked at me and asked, “Are you Dr. Pai?”

I said yes.

He immediately pointed out his two young daughters, around 12–14 years old, standing beside him, and said, “These girls are here because of you. You helped us bring them into this world.”

For a moment, I was speechless.

In that crowded aircraft, surrounded by strangers, I felt one of the deepest moments of fulfilment a doctor can experience.

That moment reminded me why medicine is unlike any other profession. It is not just about knowledge or skill, but about the rare privilege of healing, easing suffering, and restoring hope. It allows us to serve not only those who can afford care, but also those who cannot—quietly, compassionately, and without expectation.

In our culture, healers stand alongside teachers and mothers—those who shape, protect, and nurture life. This is not merely a career; it is a calling.

On this Doctors’ Day, I salute every doctor who continues to serve with compassion and purpose. To heal is to serve, and to serve is to answer one of life’s highest callings.

Here’s what it means in simple terms:
🦠 Did you know that the bacteria living in your gut and va**na can influence whether an HPV infection clears on its own — or progresses to something more serious?
Our study reviewed 82 published research papers and found:
✅ Women with healthy levels of good bacteria (Lactobacillus) are better protected against HPV progressing to cervical cancer
✅ When harmful bacteria take over, the risk of progression increases

When I began my journey in IVF, there were perhaps only around 10 to 15 doctors practising IVF across India !!

It was a time of pioneers, uncertainty, limited technology, and immense hope. Over the last 35 years, reproductive medicine has transformed repeatedly — and so have I. To remain relevant in medicine, one must keep learning, keep adapting, and keep reinventing oneself.

From the early days of IVF to ICSI, vitrification, embryo culture advances, spindle assessment, time-lapse systems like Embryoscope, donor programs, fertility preservation, and today’s AI driven innovations — every era has demanded new knowledge, new investment, and new thinking.

In recent years, healthcare has also seen the rise of private equity, aggressive expansion, branding, and marketing-led models. Yet through all these changes, one truth has remained constant:

Patients still value experience, judgment, ethics, and genuine care.

What gives me the greatest satisfaction is not competition or noise — it is meeting families years later. A mother introducing her six-year-old child and saying, “You helped bring this child into our lives.” Those moments cannot be bought, marketed, or manufactured.

Medicine is a long journey. Technologies change. Business models change. Trends change.

But trust endures.

Grateful to have walked this path for 35 years — and grateful that patients continue to place their faith in us every single day.

The present Team India lead by our Prime minister Modiji is par excellence. Our Home minister Amit Shahaji supported by the police and cisf /crpf has done overall a great job: There is security and stability in the country with the Naxal Terror effectively reduced to near closure. Our Health minister Nadaji along with our medical work force of Doctors , nurses , Asha’s has been doing great work for Women’s health implementing PMSMA and HPV Vaccination in our country . Our Defense minister Rajnathji supported by our Armed Forces is protecting our borders and sovereignty : operation sindoor was a great success and both the borders have been well developed for rapid deployment of our forces in case of external threats . Our Finance minister Nirmalaji with indian economists and planners has effectively managed the Indian economy. Despite Covid , Ukraine Russian war and now Israel Iran war our economy is stable with growth on tract and inflation under control. Our road transport minister Gadkariji is doing a great job building roads and infrastructure at a blistering pace , enabling our country to grow from within. Our industries minister Goyalji is enabling industry , startup’s and businesses-to grow exponentially. He has intelligently navigated our country through the rocky waters of tariffs , war related oil shortages and Indian currency fluctuations .Our external affairs minster S Jaishankar has done a great job , adroitly keeping India’s foreign policy balanced despite of tariff wars , Ukraine war and Middle East war
I myself along with my family are feeling safe Contented and comfortable in our great country BharatMa.
