Ever wondered why we see a murti of "NatRaj" in many yoga spaces...?
"Nat" means a "Performer" and "Raj" means Supreme. In yoga, Shiva is known to be the "Supreme Performer." He holds a great significance to Yogis for several reasons:
* Nataraja symbolizes the continuous cycle of creation and destruction, interconnectedness and impermanence of all things.
* The dynamic posture of Nataraja is a perfect balance and harmony, reflecting the yogic principles of balance between masculine and feminine energies to achieve equilibrium in life and practice.
* The dance of Nataraj dance is often interpreted as an expression of divine energy (Shakti) and consciousness (Shiva), the union of the individual soul (jivatma) with the universal soul (paramatma).
* It symbolizes the ultimate union of a yoga practitioner with the divine. It culminates all yogic paths to spiritual liberation (moksha).
