Where did the energy begin? 🌿

A lion eats a deer. The deer feeds on grass. And the grass draws its energy from the earth, water and sunlight.

But where did it all truly begin?

In the Lalita Sahasranama, Maa is called Annadā — She who gives food.

Food becomes our body, our energy, our thoughts and our actions.

What was outside us yesterday becomes a part of us today.

Perhaps, Maa is not just the giver of food. She is the food, the one who receives it, and the Shakti that transforms it into life.

🙏 The next time you eat, pause for a moment. Can you recognise Her in your food?

❤️ “Just acidity. Just tired. Just stress. Just getting older.”

How often do we dismiss what our body is trying to tell us?

We brush off unusual fatigue, mild breathlessness or chest discomfort, assuming it's nothing serious.

But sometimes, “just” is a sign worth checking.

This World Heart Day, let's learn to listen to our bodies, recognise the warning signs and seek medical attention when something feels different.

Maybe the real “superfood” is not a food at all — but the knowledge of when, where and how to eat it. 🌿

Our traditional food systems carried so much wisdom about seasons, forests and what nature offered us.

The more I learn, the more I realise: food is not just nutrition. It’s also a relationship with nature.

Would you be curious to explore more of these forgotten foods? 🌱

🩸 Platelets LOW during dengue? What should you EAT? 👇

First, remember: No single food is a magic platelet booster!
But nourishing your body with adequate fluids, protein and micronutrient-rich foods can support recovery. 💚

🥛 Milk • Curd • Paneer
Protein + essential nutrients to support your body during recovery.

🥥 Coconut Water
Helps with hydration and provides electrolytes. 💧

🥝 Kiwi
Rich in vitamin C and other micronutrients that support overall nutrition.

❤️ Pomegranate
A nutrient- and antioxidant-rich fruit that can be part of a balanced recovery diet.

🐉 Dragon Fruit
Provides fluids, fibre and vitamin C—an easy fruit to include during recovery.

🌱 Wheatgrass
Can add variety and micronutrients to the diet, but don't treat it as a platelet-raising medicine.

🥬 Green Leafy Vegetables
Provide folate, vitamin K and other micronutrients important for normal blood-cell production.

🍊 Citrus Fruits
Oranges, mosambi, lemon and other citrus fruits provide vitamin C and fluids.

🎃 Pumpkin Seeds
A convenient source of protein, zinc and other micronutrients.

🌰 Almonds & Walnuts
Provide protein, healthy unsaturated fats and micronutrients.

💧 And don't forget HYDRATION!
During dengue, adequate fluids are particularly important. WHO guidance includes water, ORS/electrolyte solutions, milk and suitable fluids such as fruit juice.

⚠️ Important: Don't rely on food alone when platelets are falling. Regular medical monitoring is important, and symptoms such as bleeding, severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, drowsiness or breathing difficulty need urgent medical attention.

🩸 Save this for your dengue-care checklist & share it with someone who needs it!

What you eat during dengue can support hydration, energy and recovery.

In this video, I’ve shared practical food and fluid choices to consider during dengue.

Maybe we’ve made healthy eating more complicated than it needs to be. 🌿

The more I explore our traditional food systems, the more I realise how much wisdom is already present in the way our grandparents ate.

Not everything needs to be a trend, imported, or labelled a “superfood” to deserve a place on our plate.

Sometimes, going back is actually moving forward. 💚

Would you be open to exploring more of these foods in your everyday diet?

🌽 What if one small food choice could help keep a traditional food alive?

Have you noticed how easily sweet corn is available, while traditional white corn (desi makka) is becoming harder to find?

I remember hearing last year that some farmers were choosing not to grow white corn because sweet corn was easier to grow and sell.

And it made me think…

Farmers grow what we choose to buy.

White corn and sweet corn aren't about good vs bad. They are different varieties, with different tastes, textures and uses.

But when we stop asking for traditional varieties, we slowly lose food diversity, local farming traditions and the flavours our children may never get to experience.

🌱 So, the next time you spot white corn: BUY IT. COOK IT. SHARE IT.

Because sometimes, preserving food heritage begins with what's on our plate. ❤️

Have you eaten white corn? What do you call it in your region? 🌽

🧂 Pink, black, rock or table salt — which one is actually the “best”?

Here’s the truth: most salts are far more similar than we think. The differences are mainly in texture, taste and how they’re processed.

So before spending more on a “healthier” salt, know what you’re really buying. 😉
