Since I was In Vellore , Dr Balavenkat from Ganga asked me to give a talk to his residents . It was nice to interact with the youngsters and introduce them to the successes of Ashirvad approach to chronic pain and the change of concept from managing pain to relieving it with a holistic approach .

“ It was so nice to meet up with all my Paeds anaesthesia friends at the Asian society meeting in Vellore . Truly old is gold .
They were all so enthusiastic about the outcomes of ultrasound guided dry needling in correcting the deformities and movement disorders in cerebral palsy children . Also this brought out a little known fact that many CP children suffer pain which gets relieved by needling . The interesting and consistent finding has been that what is considered as cerebral irritation in these children is actually irritability due to the constant pull of these spastic muscles. The irritability goes down with posture improvements within 2-3 sessions. So much so they want to attend our USGDN workshop in December to learn more about it . All in all very satisfying 😊

The first day of the 21st Workshop on “Ultrasound-guided dry needling to take pain management to decisive pain relief”, conducted by Ashirvad Institute For Pain Management and Research took off yesterday, with a cadaveric dissection in the Anatomy Halls of Bai Yamunabai Laxman Nair Charitable Hospital and Topiwala National Medical College, in collaboration with their Department of Anaesthesiology and Pain Clinic.
