The UHMS International Hyperbaric Skills and Emergency Management Course is coming to India for the very first time, and we are proud to be hosting it at Prana.
Much of the conversation around this milestone has rightly focused on what it means for the clinicians attending. But its real significance reaches much further than the training room.
Every doctor who trains to an internationally recognised standard goes on to make better clinical decisions, refer more appropriately, and deliver hyperbaric oxygen treatment more safely and effectively. That benefit does not stay with the individual. It reaches every patient they treat. As more clinicians in India are trained to this standard, the entire ecosystem strengthens. Referral pathways improve. Protocols become more consistent. And access to safe, high-quality hyperbaric oxygen treatment widens for the people who need it most.
This is why the UHMS choosing India for its first international skills lab is about more than a two-day course. It is a step towards raising the standard of care for hyperbaric medicine across the country.
