FAREWELL...
On behalf of the parishioners of The Church of Our Lady of Velankanni - Irla, the Parish Council Members organised a grand farewell for our dears Sisters of St. Anne's Convent - Sr. Fatima and Sr. Theresa. The function was followed by a Holy Eucharistic celebration at 9.00 a.m. The main celebrant being our Parish Priest - Fr. Ravi T. Marneni, and con-celebrated with Fr. Praveen - Ast. PP, Fr. Ed Carlos and Fr. Matteus. Fr. Ravi felicitated both sisters after mass. A whole lot of our parishioners witnessed the farewell function. Hats off to our Parish Council Members for putting up such a grand show.
We wish Sr. Fatima and Sr. Theresa all the very best in the future, as they set out to move over to their new destination - Sisters of St. Anne Convent at Karlin House, Santacruz.

Today’s Feast of Mary, the Mother of God is a very appropriate way to begin the new year. This celebration reminds us that the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, is also our Heavenly Mother. “Through Mary to Jesus!" This is an occasion to renew our devotion to Mary, who is also Mother of the Church because she is our spiritual mother — and we are the Church.

Holy Mother of God, to you we consecrate this New Year. You, who know how to cherish things in your heart, care for us, bless our time, and teach us to find time for God and for others. With joy and confidence, we acclaim you: Holy Mother of God! Holy Mother of God! Holy Mother of God!
