DID YOU KNOW?

Your cornea—the clear front surface of the eye—is one of the few parts of the human body that contains no blood vessels.

So how does it get oxygen?

The cornea absorbs oxygen directly from the air through the tear layer that covers your eyes. This unique design helps keep the cornea crystal clear, allowing light to pass through and helping you see clearly.

Every blink helps maintain this delicate process, keeping your eyes healthy and comfortable.

Your eyes are truly remarkable—give them the care they deserve with regular eye check-ups.

You may not notice the signs. Your eyes may still be at risk.

Some eye conditions, including Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), can develop gradually without affecting your vision in the early stages.

As we age, the risk of retinal diseases increases, making regular eye examinations more important than ever. Factors such as family history, smoking, diabetes, and overall eye health can influence your risk over time.

The good news? Early changes can often be detected through a simple eye examination—before vision is impacted.

Early eye evaluations help identify potential concerns and support long-term vision health.

Because protecting your sight starts with prevention, not symptoms.

June is Cataract Awareness Month

HOW TO HELP SLOW DOWN CATARACT PROGRESSION

While cataracts are a common part of aging, certain healthy habits may help support long-term eye health and reduce the risk of faster progression.

• Protect your eyes from harmful UV rays by wearing quality sunglasses outdoors.
• Maintain a healthy, balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and antioxidants.
• Avoid smoking, as it can increase the risk of cataract development and progression.
• Schedule regular eye examinations to monitor your vision and detect changes early.

Taking care of your eyes today can help preserve clearer vision for the years ahead.

This Cataract Awareness Month, make eye health a priority.
