JUPITER TRANSIT IN CANCER SIGN IN 7TH HOUSE IN ITS OWN MAHADASHA DID NOT GIVE MARRIAGE WHY
The native wants to know why didn't Jupiter (most benefic planet) provide love/life partner in its Mahadasha with being exalted in the 7th house during 2014-15 transit, as per his horoscope according to vedic astrology.

I would like to explain it and readers need to understand it step by step.

Firstly mahadasha and transit are two different parameters of vedic astrology and their way of giving results is also different.

To explain this in better way I will have to start it from the beginning as, how an event gets activated.

In a vedic horoscope and there are 12 bhavas / houses and each house is a promise of few events in the native’s life and they can be positive or negative.

The promised events get activated by the mahadasha ruling period which governs the date of delivery of an event.

The mahadasha by itself can not give an event by itself unless it is promised in the horoscope level and the same event is also signified by the mahadasha planet during its ruling period.

If mahadasha planet donot signify the same event in its ruling period, then that event will not get activated during its ruling period.

The TRANSIT PLANET acts like ON and OFF button to activate the event during its transit period.

If an event is not promised or if mahadasha ruling planet donot signify an event in its signification during its ruling period then the transit planet has no power to give that event during its transit over that event signifying house during its trasit.

In a simple word, a transit planet donot / cannot give an event on its own during its trasit.

So even if Jupiter transit in 2014 -15 was in its exaltation sign of cancer in 7th house of native’s horoscope, it had no power to give the event unless it is promised by the mahadasha ruling period.

I am mentioning mahadasha ruling period, but in reality it is further divided and again and divided into many sub and sub sub periods called antardasha, pratiantardasha, sukshmadasha and prandasha period.

So when I say mahadasha period, it means that the mahadasha planet and its sub and sub sub planets together should signify the event and the best combination of the planets signifies the period.

And then the transit planet comes in its transit and click the event button.

As per native’s birth details even the Jupiter mahadasha was not strongly signifying the marriage event during its mahadasha ruling period, and so even if Jupiter came in its exaltation sign of cancer during its transit, is of no use as mahadasha was not supporting the event strongly during its period and more over the sub and sub sub periods were also not supportive at all during that period as a result there was not activation of the event.

One logic reader should understand that if Jupiter transit in its exaltation sign of cancer in 7th house gives marriage then an individual will / can get married after every 12 years as Jupiter stays in a house for a year in its transit and it take 12 years to return back to the same house again.

This is not what actually happens and so it is not a dictum / rules of astrology.

One thing that does happen during the 7th house Jupiter transit for people who are attending marriage age is that they will think of marriage and some may try very hard during this transit period but will not happen if it is not promised in horoscope level as well as mahadasha level.

So vedic astrology is very complex shastra and what one see it superficially is not what actually is. One need to deep dive in to see the reality.

SIGNIFICANCE OF PITRU PAKSHA IN HINDU TRADITION

WHY SATURN TRANSIT IN 7TH HOUSE LED TO FIGHT AS PER ASTROLOGY
The native in question is asking that she and her husband fight every time when Saturn transit hits their 7th house and wants to know if this is a pattern or just coincidence.

Astrologically my view as an astrologer, this is not just a coincidence but a true pattern in simple answer.

Let me explain it step by step.

The patter of the Saturn transit in 7th house of the horoscope and their fight / quarrel can be explained by the activation theory.

But there are many more parameters that is needed to be understood first and then only the activation theory can be applicable to it.

Secondly the current ruling mahadasha period on that time should also support the fight / quarrel event in its ruling period.

And obviously some other planets should also signify the fight / quarrel event in their significations.

The transit planet acts like ON and OFF button to activate the event during its transit.

Now readers should read and understand it very carefully how the event of fight will unfold / activate.

When Saturn transit hits their 7th house then it activates the 7th house events signified by the 7th cuspal sublord ( as per KP vedic astrology paddhati ).

As I have discussed above, due to the promise of fight event in the horoscope level, the event gets activated in antardasha, pratianatrdasha or sukshmadasha level.

As Saturn stays in a house for 2.5 years roughly so there is enough time for the fight to get activated in its sub period of any mahadasha ruling period.

WHY GENERAL MAHADASHA PREDICTION ARE NOT CORRECT IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY
In Vedic astrology, general Mahadasha predictions often fail because a Mahadasha does not give a fixed result by itself, it activates the complete promise of the birth chart.

A planet’s Mahadasha is like opening a chapter of a book, but the content of that chapter depends on what that planet represents in the horoscope its house placement, sign, dignity, conjunctions, aspects, nakshatra, divisional charts, and the running Antardasha. Therefore, statements like "Saturn Mahadasha always gives struggle" or "Jupiter Mahadasha always gives wealth and happiness" are oversimplifications.

A Mahadasha is the long period ruled by a planet in the Vimshottari Dasha system. The planet becomes the main controller of karmic experiences during that period. However, the planet does not create completely new events; it usually delivers the results connected with its position and ownership in the natal chart. This is why the same Mahadasha can create completely opposite experiences for two different people.

For example, consider Jupiter Mahadasha. Many general predictions say Jupiter gives wealth, wisdom, marriage, children, expansion, and blessings. But suppose a person has Jupiter placed in the 8th house, debilitated, afflicted by malefics, and ruling difficult houses. In that case, Jupiter Mahadasha may bring transformation, sudden changes, research, inheritance matters, health concerns, or psychological growth rather than simple prosperity.

The same Jupiter for another person may be in the 9th house in its own sign, forming powerful yogas. That person may experience higher education, fortune, spiritual growth, respect, and financial expansion during Jupiter Mahadasha. Therefore, saying "Jupiter period is good" without studying the horoscope is incomplete.

The second reason general Mahadasha predictions fail is that house ownership changes the role of a planet. A planet is not naturally good or bad only by its nature; it becomes a functional planet depending on the ascendant. For example, Saturn is generally considered a slow and challenging planet because it represents delay, discipline, responsibility, and karma.

But for a Libra ascendant, Saturn becomes the lord of the 4th and 5th houses and can become a powerful yogakaraka planet. Saturn Mahadasha for such a person can bring career rise, authority, property, recognition, and stability. On the other hand, for another ascendant where Saturn rules difficult houses and is weak, the same Saturn Mahadasha may create obstacles, pressure, and losses.

Another important factor is planetary dignity. A planet in exaltation, own sign, friendly sign, or strong Navamsa position has a different capacity than a weak planet. Imagine Mars Mahadasha.

A general prediction might say Mars gives courage, property, engineering ability, leadership, and competition. But if Mars is weak and afflicted, Mars Mahadasha may manifest as anger issues, conflicts, accidents, disputes, or unnecessary struggles. If Mars is strong and connected to the 10th house, the same period can bring a powerful career rise, entrepreneurship, sports success, or leadership roles.

A major mistake in general predictions is ignoring the Bhava (house) where the Mahadasha lord sits. The house shows the area of life where the karma unfolds. If Venus Mahadasha runs and Venus is in the 7th house, relationships, marriage, partnerships, and public dealings become important themes.

For example, a person may have a strong career yoga involving Sun and Saturn. During Sun Mahadasha, the person may gain authority, government connections, leadership, or fame.

But during Sun-Saturn Antardasha, the same person may face pressure, increased responsibilities, conflicts with authorities, or restructuring. The overall period may still be successful, but the experience is mixed.

The Moon’s nakshatra placement is another hidden factor. Vimshottari Dasha itself is calculated from the Moon’s nakshatra. The nakshatra lord influences how the planetary energy operates.

Two people may both enter Mars Mahadasha, but their Mars can behave differently because Mars is connected to different nakshatra environments and karmic patterns.

Divisional charts are also important. The birth chart (D1) shows the overall promise, but specific matters require deeper charts. For example, marriage results require examination of the Navamsa (D9), career requires the Dasamsa (D10), wealth may require financial divisional charts. A person may have an average Venus in D1 but a very strong Venus in D9, causing Venus Mahadasha to improve relationships and comforts after maturity.

But Saturn can also represent long-lasting achievements, authority, structure, mass influence, and success after effort. A person with strong Saturn may rise slowly but reach a position that lasts for decades. So Saturn Mahadasha cannot simply be labelled as bad.

The concept of karma activation explains why the same Mahadasha creates different events. A planet carries the karmic promise stored in the horoscope. It does not randomly decide to give wealth, marriage, illness, or fame. If the chart contains the promise of a certain event, the Mahadasha may activate it. If the promise is absent, the same Mahadasha may show a different form.

For example, two people may enter Rahu Mahadasha. One person has Rahu connected with the 10th house, foreign lands, technology, and ambition. Rahu may give sudden career growth, international opportunities, fame, or unconventional success.

Another person has Rahu connected with the 6th or 8th house and afflicted by malefics. That Rahu period may bring confusion, sudden obstacles, hidden enemies, or drastic life changes. Rahu is the same planet, but the karmic field is different.

Therefore, in classical Vedic astrology, a proper Mahadasha analysis should consider:

Which houses the planet owns
Which house it occupies
The sign and dignity of the planet
Conjunctions and aspects
Nakshatra placement
Strength in divisional charts
Current Antardasha
Transit support, especially Saturn and Jupiter
Existing yogas and karmic promises
A general Mahadasha prediction is like saying "a seed will grow into a tree." But the type of tree, its strength, fruits, and timing depend on the soil, climate, and care. Similarly, a Mahadasha gives results according to the entire horoscope. That is why experienced Vedic astrologers do not judge a Mahadasha only by the planet’s name; they judge the complete planetary role in the native’s destiny.
