Health does not begin in the body.
It begins in the conditions the body depends on.

So pay attention to those conditions.

Protect what sustains them.
And when needed,
stand for them.

Because what happens to the soil
does not stay in the soil.

How to act for your external anatomy today:
• Rebuild — Support to bring forests back to our cities.
• Defend — Follow Vanashakti and to join the frontlines of forest and wetland protection.
• Learn — Support and for science-led conservation that connects ecology to human survival.
• Volunteer — learn sustainable living by volunteering at Sadhana Forest
• Witness — Notice the trees in your neighbourhood. Know them. Do not let them become invisible.

You are not in the environment.
You are the environment.
To protect your biology,
you must protect the environment.

Your “environment” isn’t just the air you breathe—it’s also the people you share it with. 🫁

I recently saw a patient who was doing everything “right.”
His WFPB diet was consistent and his lifestyle was clean.
Yet, his asthma returned the moment a difficult family dynamic moved back into his city.

As a doctor who has lived with asthma since childhood, I know this “mystery” well.
We try to out-eat a nervous system that doesn’t feel safe, but the body carries the imprint of every room we’ve had to shrink ourselves to fit into.

Swipe through to see:
* Why the “Exit Effect” is a real physiological phenomenon.
* How the airway acts as an interface between your biology and your boundaries.
* * Why your inhaler might be treating a symptom of a relational trigger.

Your symptoms are not separate from the life you are living.
They are shaped by the pace you keep, the pressure you carry, the story you were taught to believe about your worth.

At some point, the question shifts—not just how to cope, but what exactly you are being asked to cope with.

“Apparently I’ve become “difficult” now.”

This is a phase I see often in clinic.

Not because something is going wrong—
but because something is finally shifting.

When over-giving stops,
the body often feels the relief first.
The people around you may take longer.

Some things felt like breaking rules.
Some things felt like breaking patterns.
Some felt like survival.
Some felt like discovery.

I’m sharing a few of the “firsts” in my bloodline—moments where there was no template, no map, no one to check with.
Just figuring it out as I went along: holding myself, slowing down, sitting with discomfort.

If you’ve ever done something for the first time, with no guide, you’ll understand why this matters.

The Regulation Lab is about that—creating space to notice, pause, and navigate what comes up when there’s no roadmap.
I’ve put in my personal experience and the tools that helped me along the way.

✨ None of this felt like a “first” while I was in it. It just felt like figuring it out without a map.

Most people understand the plan.
That’s not the problem.
What happens after is.
Patterns don’t shift just because something made sense.
And over time, the process quietly drops off.
In clinic, I don’t measure healing by the first session.
I see it in the follow-ups.
In what actually changed.
Because healing isn’t built on knowing—
it’s built on what you stay with.

My inbox is currently a marketplace of ‘Empowerment.’

I was offered an award this week. Just ₹25,000 from my pocket.
Another publication offered to ‘honor’ me for ₹4,000.
It seems the price of being an ‘outstanding woman’ is quite literal this year.

We’ve turned a day meant for systemic reflection into a commercial trap. We are told empowerment is a luxury spa day or a solo trip—but if you’re still looking over your shoulder or checking a mental to-do list,
is it really freedom?

In my latest article, I talk about the only gift that actually matters. It costs zero rupees and requires no one’s permission.

It’s the radical act of coming home to your own body.

I didn’t expect to be talking about BOTANICAL SEXISM in clinic.
But here we are.

When we talk about allergies, we usually focus on the immune system.
Antihistamines. Inhalers. Nasal sprays.

Rarely do we ask:
What changed in the environment?

I’m seeing earlier onset, longer seasons, and more persistent inflammation — even in otherwise healthy people.

This isn’t only about individual sensitivity.
It’s about cumulative exposure.

Urban planting decisions, air pollution, rising temperatures — these aren’t abstract climate conversations. They show up as blocked sinuses, fatigued mornings, and children needing inhalers.

Sometimes healing begins not with
“What’s wrong with my body?”

But with
“What has my body been living in?”

I’ve written a detailed article with the research behind this — and practical ways to reduce overall load.

You grew up managing others’ moods, walking on eggshells, staying useful…
And now even quiet moments feel strange, uneasy, or unsafe.
You’re not broken. You’re surviving patterns you never chose.

Many adults don’t really know what safety means —
because they never experienced it as children.
That makes it hard to recognize it when it finally appears.
We can function well, succeed, and manage life…
yet still feel on edge, uneasy, or “not quite safe.”

Our childhoods often taught survival before safety,
and the nervous system carries that lesson into adulthood.

This three-part series on safety and survival covers:
• Why high-functioning adults often feel unsafe
• Why calm, quiet, or stillness can feel unfamiliar
• How to recognize real safety in your body, space, and choices
• How adults can gradually create conditions where safety is possible
