A much needed step!
Renaming PCOS to PMOS acknowledges that this condition is far more than an ovarian disorder.
For years, PCOS has been viewed mainly as a reproductive condition centered around the ovaries. But in reality, many women experience symptoms that go far beyond irregular periods or cysts.
From insulin resistance and hormonal imbalance to skin changes, weight fluctuations, inflammation, fertility concerns and long-term metabolic risks, this condition affects the body as a whole.
The shift from PCOS to PMOS reflects a deeper understanding of what women have been experiencing all along. It moves the conversation beyond just ovarian function and brings attention to the metabolic and systemic impact of the condition.
Sometimes, a change in name is more than just terminology. It can change awareness, improve understanding, reduce misdiagnosis and help women feel seen for the full extent of what they are dealing with. ✨
