๐ŸŒก๏ธ Recurring Fevers Aren't Always Infections โ€“ Know the Red Flags!

Does your child experience repeated episodes of fever, but every test comes back negative for an infection? It could be more than just "another viral fever."

Some recurring fevers may be linked to auto-inflammatory conditions, where the body's immune system causes inflammation without an infection.

๐Ÿšฉ Watch out for these warning signs:
โœ”๏ธ Recurrent fever episodes
โœ”๏ธ Rash that appears with fever and fades afterward
โœ”๏ธ Joint pain or swelling during fever
โœ”๏ธ Abdominal pain, mouth ulcers, or loose stools with fever
โœ”๏ธ Persistently raised ESR/CRP without an identified infection
โœ”๏ธ Family history of similar recurring symptoms

If your child has two or more of these signs, it's important to seek evaluation by a Pediatric Rheumatologist. Early diagnosis can make a significant difference in managing these conditions.

Understanding JIA โ€“ Made Simple ๐Ÿ’œ

โœจ Did you know that children can also develop arthritis?

Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is an autoimmune condition that causes joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and inflammation in children below 16 years of age. The good news is that with early diagnosis and proper treatment, children can lead healthy, active lives.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง As a parent, don't ignore:
โœ”๏ธ Persistent joint pain or swelling
โœ”๏ธ Morning stiffness
โœ”๏ธ Limping without an obvious injury

๐Ÿ‘‰ Early evaluation by a Pediatric Rheumatologist can make all the difference.

๐Ÿšจ Is your child limping without an injury?

No fall. No fracture. No sports injury. Yet your child is walking differentlyโ€”especially in the morning?

It could be an early sign of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) or another inflammatory condition.

โš ๏ธ Don't ignore a persistent limp. Early diagnosis and timely treatment can help prevent joint damage and protect your child's mobility and growth.

โš ๏ธ Parents, watch this before you dismiss another fever.

In this video, Dr. Pallavi Pimpale, Consultant โ€“ Paediatric Rheumatology at SRCC Children's Hospital, managed by Narayana Health, Haji Ali, Mumbai, explains:

Most fevers in children are caused by common infections and improve with proper care. But persistent or recurrent fever, especially when associated with rashes, joint pain, red eyes, mouth ulcers, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, or unexplained weight loss, may be a sign of an underlying autoimmune or autoinflammatory condition.
