Dr Abhishek Kulkarni moderated the Satellite Symposium on Automated Insulin Delivery and presented the existing Automated Insulin Delivery experience in Indian children & adolescents at the Asia Pacific Pediatric Endocrinology -Indian Society of Pediatric Endocrinology Joint Meeting 2024, held at New Delhi India. The symposium introduced the newly defined metrics of optimal glycemic control, reaffirmed the need for provision of optimal system settings and need for appropriate user and clinician behaviour for intensification of glycemic control, introduced the concepts of Time in Tight Target Range in addition to the existing concept of Time in Range along the user health benefits associated with it in addition to the learnings from the Indian experience till date. The session also encompassed real time patient experiences with the use of AID systems and the positive impact these systems have on the Diabetes Treatment Satisfaction Quotients in addition to optimising the glycemic control and reducing glycemic variability.
