Last Lesson from Titanic Tragedy

This is a story of 3 ships which were nearby titanic when it sunk.

Ship no.1 was known as the Sampson.

This ship represents people like us who are so busy looking inward at our own sin that we tend to forget to recognize that we can’t recognize when somebody else is also in need.

This ship was 7 miles away from the Titanic when they saw the white flares signaling danger but since the crew had been hunting seals illegally and didn’t want to be caught, they turned and went the opposite direction away from the Titanic.

Ship no. 2 was known as the Californian.

This ship represents people who put things off and wait for favorable time.

This ship was 14 miles away from the Titanic surrounded by ice fields. The captain of the ship did notice white flares, but due to unfavorable condition and darkness, he decided to go back to bed and wait until morning. The crew convinced themselves that situation is under control.

Ship no. 3 was the Carpathia.

This ship represents people who pray to God for direction and always make themselves available when others need them. These are people who make history.

This ship was actually heading in a southern direction 58 miles away from the Titanic when captain of the ship heard the distress cries over the radio. The captain of this ship was a gentleman who made his way through all odds to reach the disaster site. This was the ship that saved the 705 survivors of the Titanic.

On that tragic night of April 15, 1912, Titanic had sent several distress signals to multiple ships but only Carpathia arrived to the spot and saved 705 lives. Had other two ships also headed to the sight other 1517 lives would have also been saved. Kudos to Captain Arthur Rostron’s valiant efforts that today we are taking this valuable lesson through this incident.

We all have one life and it is our choice what we do out of it. We can either get stuck in our own deeds or wait for right time or go ahead, take control and make history.
