Shalini Tai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre (SMHRC), under the guidance of Dr. M. Kamran Sheikh, welcomed 44 students from St. Peter High School, Wadamba, Deolopar for an enriching healthcare exposure program.

Students explored the DMMC Museum, SVL, and Ayurvedic Herbal Garden, while learning about healthcare careers, first aid, hygiene, nutrition, oral health, eye care, and infection prevention.

SMHRC, Wanadongri, in collaboration with ITDP PO Nagpur, conducted a comprehensive health check-up camp at Kolitmara Tribal School, Parseoni, screening a total of 135 students. Of these, 8 students requiring specialized care were referred to SMHRC for further treatment.

This initiative reflects SMHRC's continued commitment to preventive healthcare and community outreach, ensuring timely medical attention reaches students in underserved areas.

A Miracle of Hope. A Triumph of Care.

Born at just 28–29 weeks and weighing only 630 grams, this tiny fighter—the smallest baby ever successfully treated and discharged from the NICU at SMHRC, Wanadongri—overcame incredible odds.

After 84 days in the NICU, including 69 days of advanced respiratory support, treatment for severe infections, multiple blood transfusions, and round-the-clock expert care, the baby went home healthy, neurologically intact, with normal eye, hearing, and brain screening reports.

This remarkable journey reflects the unwavering dedication of our Neonatology team, nursing staff, and every healthcare professional who worked tirelessly under the leadership of Dr. Kush D. Jhunjhunwala and the guidance of Dr. C. M. Bokade.

Every heartbeat mattered. Every gram counted. Today, this little warrior reminds us that with compassion, expertise, and hope, miracles are possible. 💙👶

SMHRC, Wanadongri, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Nagpur, conducted a comprehensive health check-up camp at St. Ursula School, Nagpur. A total of 381 students were screened and 71 students requiring specialized care were referred to SMHRC. Prof. Dr. Monal Kukade conducted an engaging dental hygiene awareness session. 🌳 Tree Plantation Drive – A Step Towards a Greener Tomorrow 🌱

Datta Meghe Medical College & Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre (DMMC & SMHRC), in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organised a Tree Plantation Drive at Khaire Pannase, Hingna, Nagpur, under the guidance of Dr. Sonali Borkar, Associate Professor.
The initiative brought together faculty, medical graduates, support staff, and local villagers in a shared mission to promote environmental conservation and raise awareness about the importance of green cover, cleaner air, and a sustainable ecosystem.
Saplings were planted with active community participation, and awareness sessions highlighted the role each individual can play in protecting our environment for future generations.

A 30-year-old woman from Balaghat had been living with a complex submandibular neck tumor located close to the carotid artery for the past six years. The condition affected her daily life and required specialized surgical expertise.

At SMHRC, Dr. Vandana Tomey and her dedicated surgical team successfully performed the complex procedure, removing the tumor safely without complications. The patient had a smooth recovery and was discharged in stable condition.

What makes this story even more meaningful is that the entire treatment was provided free of cost under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), ensuring that financial constraints did not stand in the way of receiving advanced, quality healthcare.

Dr. Anupama Bhute, Associate Professor, Department of OBGY, DMMC, represented India as an invited speaker at the AI for Good Global Summit organized by the United Nations ITU in Geneva, Switzerland.
She was one of only three speakers worldwide in the session "Women Innovators Shaping the Future," sharing the stage with experts from Switzerland and the USA.

💡 Her talk on AI-enabled cervical cancer screening in resource-constrained settings received the loudest applause of the session and sparked interest from leaders at WHO, UNDP, and the Global Fund, opening doors for potential collaborations to improve women's healthcare across low- and middle-income countries.
