A collaborative One Day Seminar cm Workshop was organized by Shin-Etsu Chemical Tylose India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai a Japan based Company with Pharmaceutics Department of Oriental College of Pharmacy for F. Y. M. Pharm. students of Pharmaceutics Department fully funded by and at Shin-Etsu Chemical Tylose India Pvt. Ltd. on Friday, 22nd May 2026.

The initiative was taken by Dr. Pradnya Palekar – Shanbhag, Professor & Head of Pharmaceutics Department along with Ms. Sonam Singh, Assistant Lab Manager and Mr. Nitin Balkrishna Bhusane, Director of Shin-Etsu Chemical Tylose India Pvt. Ltd.

The sessions and talks by the expert speakers were very insightful and thought – provoking with in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of Shin-Etsu polymers and their applications in pharmaceuticals, thorough practical demonstrations on enteric coating and solid dispersion techniques using AQOAT and HPMCP. The hands-on insights into the manufacturing processes, machinery, and their industrial applications will benefit our students in their research projects.

Pharmaceutics Department of Oriental College of Pharmacy appreciate the efforts put in by the team, especially by Mr. Nitin Bhusane, Ms. Sonam Singh and Ms. Karishma Patil right from framing the agenda of this seminar cm workshop till its successful completion. We are fortunate to listen to their expertise and know-how. We also appreciate the warm hospitality extended by the entire team.

Their support and co-operation is highly appreciated and we hope that this support will be continued in future also through collaborative research projects.

A collaborative research project of Pharmaceutics Department with Shin-Etsu Chemical Tylose India Pvt. Ltd. is in the pipeline.

F.Y. M.Pharm. Pharmaceutics students of Oriental College of Pharmacy gained valuable exposure during their industrial visit to Icon Labs, Sanpada on 2nd May 2026. Accompanied by Ms. Vishakha Surve, Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics, our students were introduced to advanced analytical techniques including SEM, TEM, and XRD, enhancing their understanding of modern characterization methods in pharmaceutical research.

We sincerely thank our Head of Pharmaceutics Department, Prof. Dr. Pradnya Palekar - Shanbhag, and Mr. Prashant Arava Sir of Icon Labs for providing this enriching opportunity and guidance.
