The Shri H.M. Patel Memorial Young Scientist Award is a prestigious honor presented annually by the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine - Gujarat Chapter (IAPSM-GC). It was established to encourage junior medical professionals and postgraduate students to engage in high-quality research within the field of Community Medicine.The award is given for an extraordinary research conducted and presented by a member in annual state conference.
The award was presented to Dr.Neha A. Patel, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, GMERS Medical College, Navsari for the year 2026 at IAPSMCON 2026 at NAMO MERI, Silvassa, DNH.

The Department of Community Medicine, GMERS Medical College, Navsari successfully organized the World Health Day Quiz – College Level Round on 25/03/2026 as part of the IAPSM Nationwide Quiz.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and proved to be a great learning experience for all.
A total of 4 teams (3 students per team) from Batch 2023–24 participated. Congratulations to all participants and winners.

On the occasion of World TB Day 2026, the Department of Community Medicine, GMERS Medical College, Navsari organized a Reel & Video Making Competition for undergraduate students.
The event aimed to spread awareness about tuberculosis through creative and innovative digital media.
A total of 50 students participated enthusiastically, forming 10 teams and presenting impactful reels and short videos.
Topics covered included TB prevention, treatment adherence, early diagnosis, and myth-busting.
The entries showcased excellent teamwork, creativity, and scientific understanding.
The event concluded with distribution of prizes and certificates to the first three winning teams.
