On February 19, 2026, Guru Nanak Mission Medical & Educational Trust (GNMMET) welcomed two new trustees to its board.

Arvinder Kaur Dhaliwal

Arvinder Kaur is a retired Assistant Professor of Punjabi at DAV College, Amritsar. She now devotes her time to research, writing and other artistic pursuits.

Her academic leadership and commitment to Punjabi cultural and literary development support her role as a Trustee, where she contributes scholarly insight and cultural perspective to the governance and mission of the organisation.

Davinder Singh

A graduate of DAV and Khalsa Colleges in Jalandhar, Davinder Singh currently manages manufacturing, retail and real estate businesses in Punjab and the USA.

He moved to the USA in 1991 and now shares his time between Punjab, India and the USA. He supports youth leadership development in both countries. His business and community experience bring financial and operational skill to the organisation.

It is with sadness and gratitude that, due to health reasons, our long-time trustee, Amarjit Singh (vill. Kaleran) has resigned from his duties as of February 17, 2026.

Until February, 2026, Amarjit Singh was the longest-serving trustee of Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust. He was one of its founding members - back in March, 1979, when it had only 23 acres of dusty land in Dhahan, Punjab.

He was instrumental in securing the donation of an additional seven acres from Kaleran, the village adjacent to Dhahan.

He then served faithfully with Budh Singh Dhahan to see the vision of the trust come alive; first a hospital, then doctors’ housing, a primary school, a nursing college and later, expansions to include a secondary school, pharmacy, eye clinic, allied healthcare college and more.

He witnessed its programs benefit 10s of thousands each year with affordable healthcare and education services.

Between 2009 to 2015, he served as President of the Trust. His other roles have included treasurer, secretary and executive committee member. All of his roles had been voluntary commitments, with no remuneration.
