Shoulder pain that keeps you awake at night? Don’t ignore it.

Night-time shoulder pain can have several causes. In this video, you will learn three of the most common ones:

🔹 Subacromial bursitis: Inflammation of the bursa around the shoulder can cause swelling and increased pain at night, especially after overhead activities.

🔹 Frozen shoulder: Along with night pain, you may gradually notice increasing stiffness and difficulty moving your shoulder.

🔹 Rotator cuff tear: A tear in the rotator cuff can cause severe pain, particularly when lying on the affected side, along with weakness.

If your shoulder pain is accompanied by muscle weakness, stiffness, or restricted movement, don’t simply live with it. Get your shoulder properly evaluated so the right treatment can be started.

Watch the video to understand what your night-time shoulder pain could be telling you.

Robotic knee replacement is changing the way knee replacement surgery is planned and performed.

But what exactly happens during robotic-assisted knee replacement, and what benefits can it offer?

In this carousel, we break it down step by step:
• How detailed 3D planning works
• How robotic assistance supports the surgeon during surgery
• The potential benefits of robotic-assisted knee replacement
• How your surgeon decides whether it is right for you

The robot assists. The surgeon makes the decisions.

Every patient is different, so the right approach depends on your knee condition, anatomy, overall health, activity level and your surgeon’s assessment.

Swipe through to understand how robotic knee replacement works.

Rotator cuff examination doesn't have to be confusing.

Knowing which test evaluates which tendon can make your shoulder examination more accurate and help you build a stronger clinical diagnosis.

In this carousel, you'll learn:

• Supraspinatus tests: Empty Can, Full Can & Drop Arm
• Infraspinatus tests: ER Resistance, ER Lag & Patte Test
• Teres Minor tests: ER Lag & Hornblower Sign
• Subscapularis tests: Lift-off, Belly Press & Bear Hug Test
• Pain provocation tests for impingement
• When to use high-sensitivity vs high-specificity tests
• A simple clinical decision-making algorithm you can apply in practice

Remember: No single physical examination test confirms a rotator cuff tear. The best diagnosis comes from combining patient history, inspection, range of motion, and a cluster of well-performed special tests.

Whether you're an orthopedic resident, physiotherapist, sports medicine trainee, or practicing clinician, this is a quick reference you'll want to revisit before your next clinic.

Some journeys bring you back to where your growth truly began.

Returning to Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore after two years for the Ganga Operative Trauma Course 2026 was a truly special experience.

Being back at the institution where I completed my fellowship reminded me of the values that define great surgery: precision, discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

From live operative demonstrations to insightful discussions, every session offered practical lessons that I look forward to applying in my clinical practice. It was also inspiring to interact with orthopaedic surgeons from across the globe, all united by the same passion for improving patient care.

Grateful to the faculty and the entire Ganga Hospital team for creating another exceptional academic experience. Every visit reinforces one simple truth: the day we stop learning is the day we stop growing.

Here's to continuous learning and better outcomes for every patient. 🙏

🦴 Why does a fracture take so long to heal?

Bone healing is a natural process that happens in 4 stages:

🩸 Hematoma Formation (1 to 2 weeks)
🦴 Soft Callus Formation (2 to 4 weeks)
💪 Hard Callus Formation (4 to 8 weeks)
🔄 Bone Remodeling (12 to 18 months)

While most fractures heal in about 8 weeks, the bone continues to strengthen and remodel for many months.

Proper treatment, good nutrition, and rehabilitation are essential for a smooth recovery.

If you have a fracture or persistent pain after an injury, consult an orthopedic specialist without delay.
