A neurologist referred a patient to me some time back. Migraines he was treating pharmacologically. IBS — years old, separate, not a pharmacology problem. He sent her for that.
Here’s what most people miss about classical homeopathy: we don’t treat by body system. The case-taking is 90 minutes because the unit of treatment is the whole person. Sleep, stress, history, food, mood — the constitutional pattern underneath all of it. The remedy is matched to the person, not the symptom.
In six months, her gut pattern shifted significantly. Her migraines stayed managed by her neurologist’s medication throughout — I can’t isolate any homeopathic effect there, and I won’t claim what I couldn’t measure.
What I can say: this is what constitutional medicine actually is. Homeopaths aren’t specialty practitioners. We’re whole-person doctors, working alongside specialists who manage what their tools manage well.
Save this if you’ve ever had to explain to a patient why constitutional case-taking takes 90 minutes — and why it’s worth every one of them.
