💙 MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH 💙
Men are often taught to be providers, protectors, and problem-solvers. Yet many are never taught how to express vulnerability, process emotions, or ask for help when they are struggling.
The statistics tell a powerful story:
📊 Nearly 72% of su***de deaths in India are among men.
📊 Men are approximately 2.5 times more likely to die by su***de than women.
📊 Many men delay seeking professional help due to stigma, fear of judgment, societal expectations, or the belief that they should "handle it on their own."
📊 Loneliness, relationship difficulties, financial stress, workplace pressure, substance use, and untreated depression are among the major contributors to psychological distress in men.
📊 Research shows that men often seek help only when symptoms have become severe, making early intervention even more important.
Behind every statistic is a father, son, husband, brother, colleague, or friend.
Mental health struggles do not discriminate by gender. Depression does not make a man weak. Anxiety is not a character flaw. Asking for help is not a failure.
A society that tells men to "man up" must also learn to tell men:
✔️ It's okay to talk.
✔️ It's okay to cry.
✔️ It's okay to ask for help.
✔️ It's okay to not be okay.
This Men's Mental Health Month, let's replace silence with conversation, stigma with understanding, and judgment with compassion.
Because strong men don't suffer in silence.
Strong men reach out.
