Introduction
An Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme was organized at Dr. Deepak Patil Ayurvedic Medical College, Borpadale, with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding the harmful effects of ragging and promoting a safe, respectful and friendly academic environment.
Objectives
1. To create awareness about the prevention of ragging among students.
2. To educate students about the physical, psychological and academic consequences of ragging.
3. To inform students about anti-ragging rules and regulations.
4. To encourage students to maintain mutual respect and discipline.
5. To promote a safe and ragging-free campus.
Activities Conducted
1. Poster Presentation
Students actively participated in an Anti-Ragging Poster Presentation. The posters highlighted the message “Say No to Ragging”, the adverse effects of ragging, student rights and the importance of maintaining a friendly campus environment.
2. Anti-Ragging Awareness Rally
An awareness rally was organized on the college campus and surrounding area. Students carried awareness posters and placards and raised slogans promoting a ragging-free campus. The rally aimed to spread the message that ragging is unacceptable and that every student deserves to study in a safe environment.
3. Guest Lecture
A guest lecture on Anti-Ragging Awareness and Prevention was conducted for the students. The speaker explained the meaning and forms of ragging, its impact on students, preventive measures, institutional responsibilities and the importance of reporting incidents of ragging. Students were also encouraged to maintain discipline, respect their peers and support a positive learning environment.
Outcome
The programme created awareness among students regarding the serious consequences of ragging and the importance of maintaining discipline and mutual respect. Students actively participated in the poster presentation and rally and gained knowledge about anti-ragging measures and their responsibilities.
Conclusion
The Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme was successfully conducted at DDPAMC, Borpadale. The combined activities of poster presentation, awareness rally and guest lecture effectively conveyed the message of “Zero Tolerance towards Ragging.” The programme contributed to creating a safe, disciplined, respectful and ragging-free academic environment in the institution.
