On the occasion of World Asthma Day 5th May 2026, Under the aegis of IAP Patiala, Raikhi Hospital - Asthma & Allergy Centre Patiala conducted an awareness session to clear common myths about inhalers in asthma and allergies.
Many patients, especially parents, still worry that inhalers are addictive or harmful for children. During the session, we shared an important message—when used correctly, inhalers are safe, effective, and often life-saving. Inhaled corticosteroid therapy not only relieves symptoms but also treats the underlying inflammation and helps prevent serious asthma attacks.
Small awareness, timely treatment, and the right information can save lives.
The Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) theme for World Asthma Day 2026 is: “Access to anti-inflammatory inhalers for everyone with asthma – still an urgent need”.
GINA continues to emphasize the need to ensure that all people with asthma can access inhaled medications that are essential for controlling the underlying disease and treating attacks.
