Happy to share a landmark achievement in the field of minimally invasive surgery in Bihar — successfully performing the First Robotic Bariatric Surgery in Bihar.
This milestone marks another important step in bringing advanced robotic surgical technology to Bihar& Jharkhand and expanding access to world-class surgical care within the state. Robotic Bariatric Surgery offers enhanced precision, superior visualization, improved ergonomics, reduced postoperative pain, lower wound-related complications, and faster recovery for patients suffering from obesity and metabolic disorders.
The successful use of the SSI Mantra platform in Bariatric Surgery demonstrates the growing capabilities of indigenous robotic technology in complex gastrointestinal and metabolic procedures.
As obesity and metabolic diseases continue to rise, the need for safe, standardized, and technologically advanced surgical solutions becomes increasingly important. It is gratifying to contribute towards making such advanced care available closer to home for patients across Bihar and Eastern India.
Grateful to my entire OT team, anaesthesia team, nursing staff, hospital administration, and colleagues whose dedication and teamwork made this achievement possible. Most importantly, sincere thanks to the patient for their trust and confidence.

I feel honored and humbled to be invited as Faculty and Speaker at the prestigious SMRSC 2026 Robotic Surgery Conference, .org, held in New Delhi.
It was a privilege to share my insights and experience on robotic splenectomy for massive splenomegaly, before the stalwarts in the field of robotic surgery from diverse corners of the globe.
Grateful for the engaging discussions, exchange of ideas, and the collective vision to push the boundaries of robotic surgery using this MadeInIndia Surgical Robot.

Honored and privileged to be invited as faculty at the Young HSICON Conference 2026 held in Chandigarh on 28th–29th March—proudly presenting our work in the field of Herniology at Ruban Memorial Hospital.

Presented a talk on Laparo-endoscopic groin hernia surgery, participated in a panel discussion, and chaired an academic session of 5 talks at the event.
The conference provided an excellent platform to reconnect with respected mentors, cherished colleagues, and the vibrant surgical fraternity from across India. It was a great experience contributing to an insightful panel discussion on hernia surgery prosthesis, sharing perspectives, and learning from esteemed experts.

It has been more than a year since the launch of Robotic Surgery Programme at Ruban Hospital, Patna. This also happens to be the first robotics programme in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand combined. Gallstone ileus is an important, though infrequent, cause of mechanical bowel obstruction. It is caused by impaction of a gallstone in the ileum after being passed through a biliary-enteric fistula. The diagnosis is often delayed since symptoms may be intermittent and investigations fail to identify the cause of the obstruction. The mainstay of treatment is removal of the obstructing stone after resuscitating the patient. Gallstone ileus continues to be associated with relatively high rates of morbidity and mortality.
