Talus fractures # in Ankle/ foot trauma are challenging injuries to fix surgically.
Reasons:
Complexity of Talar shape/Unique anatomy
Vascular vulnerability (AVN chances )
A potentially unforgiving soft tissue envelope
Articular cartilage abundance 60% coverage
Difficult surgical exposure
They occur due to Fall from height or road traffic accident by foot being trapped in pedal of bike/ accidents /sports injuries.
Recovery takes 6 to 8 weeks to start weight bearing with support after surgery.

Young Patient in his late 20 s with history of fall from roof ...came with traumatic paraparesis ...weakness of both lower limbs, sensory loss ,bladder involved ,bed ridden,.with burst fracture of L2 ...with dural tear...he was operated -Pedicle screw fixation + Decompression+ dural repair...Such patients if operated early show promising results...otherwise prognosis is very poor if delayed and recovery may take months or years even after surgery...3 months follow up he has regained his power ,started weight bearing with support.full bladder and bowel control..God is Great..🙏..
