Basic steps of an A.V. fistula (end to side)

A.V. fistula is the commonest surgery done in patients of chronic kidney failure for performing hemodialysis (HD).

It should ideally be done as soon as the patient is diagnosed with the chronic kidney disease. Quality of life is significantly improved by creating an effective and long lasting fistula.

It is a day care / minor procedure performed under local anesthesia and does not require admission to the hospital.

CONGENITAL MELANOCYTIC NEAEVUS/ MOLES/ BIRTH MARKS

Melanocytic naevi, moles or birth marks are harmless proliferation of melanin pigment producing cells in the skin leading to aesthetic problems. Many are small but some may be quite large. March 6th : World Lymphedema Day

Lymphedema refers to swelling that generally occurs in one of the arms or legs or sometimes both arms or both legs . It can happen due to lymphatic blockage by a variety of reasons and some of the symptoms can be feeling of heaviness, restricted range of motion,pain or discomfort, recurrent infections and thickening of skin.
Treatment options are multiple and can range from exercise to compressive therapies to vascularised lymph node transfers.

March 6th is celebrated as world Lymphedema day to create awareness about Lymphedema and lymphatic malformations.
