Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) School of Optometry Established in July 1998 under Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, Pune.

The college campus is equipped with computers. Students can use these computers to prepare presentations on different topics and also refer presentations which are used during lectures already taken. There is also free unlimited internet facility to be us

𝗜𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀:
College is facilitating their students with a large number of text books available in its own library which can be issued to the students on the loan basis. There are also many reference books available in the library. The library is open for the whole day during the college timing for all the students.
𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆:
College has state of art digital library in the university campus for the students which is open throughout the day for the students. It also has free internet facility. Students are encouraged to read new articles and research topics in Optometry.
𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆:
The college has got an excellent centralized reading library which is open for twenty-four hours throughout the year on the university campus. It consists of a large reading hall having a huge number of books, articles for all medical faculties.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 (𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀):
Students are encouraged to do extracurricular activities. Every year college celebrates a sports day. College provides sports equipment such as cricket, badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, and many others. Students can access these facilities for free. The ground also has got the area to play Kho-Kho, kabaddi, and tug of war.

College provides hostel facilities for girls as well as boys.

As part of our commitment to community eye care and vision care awareness, two M.Optom students of BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune, on 23rd May 2026, actively participated in an eye screening camp conducted in association with Bharati Hospital and the Dagadusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust at Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya (NMV) High School & Junior College, Pune.

A total of 156 beneficiaries were screened during the camp, helping identify individuals in need of further eye care and intervention.

Such outreach initiatives play a vital role in promoting early detection of ocular conditions, improving access to eye care services, and creating awareness about the importance of regular eye examinations.

Together, we continue our efforts towards building a community with healthier vision and better eye health. 🌟

Myopia is becoming increasingly common among children and young adults due to rising screen time, prolonged near work, and reduced outdoor activities. This week (18th to 24th May), observed as Myopia Awareness Week, serves as an important reminder about the value of early detection, regular eye examinations, and timely myopia management.

The B.Optom and M.Optom students of BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune, successfully organized EYECONIC 2.0, a vibrant three-day cultural event held from 4th to 6th March.

Each day featured a unique theme that added color and excitement to the celebration!
Day 1 – Traditional Day highlighted the rich diversity of Indian culture with students dressed in beautiful traditional attire.
Day 2 – Retro to Metro brought nostalgia and modern flair together as participants showcased styles inspired by different eras.
Day 3 – Carnival Day concluded the event on a high note, featuring fun activities, shopping stalls, and a photobooth where students enjoyed capturing memorable moments.

EYECONIC 2.0 provided a wonderful platform for students to express their talents, build stronger bonds, and celebrate the spirit of student life beyond the classroom. The event truly reflected the enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity of the optometry student community. 🌟
