It happens.
A busy morning. Travel. A missed alarm. A dose that was given, but vomited out before absorbing.
Missing a single dose of antiseizure medication is not an emergency but how you respond to it matters.
The most important thing: do not double up the dose. This is the most common mistake and can cause more harm than the missed dose itself.
The general rule - if you remember soon, give it. If the next dose is near, skip and continue as normal. When in doubt, always call the clinic.
Every child's medication is different. What applies to one may not apply to another. The graphic above covers the general approach but your child's specific instructions from Dr. Nikit Shah always take priority.
