Deepshikha is the only Institution of its kind to cater to special children in and around Ranchi. We had a very humble beginning on 17th July 1988 when Purshree, a ladies organisation started this Institute in a small room in Ranchi. With less than Rs. 10,000/- ($ 220) in our pockets and only one trained professional among us, it was our dream – the dream to create a platform for differently abled

children – that sustained us, without any government aid. Ours is a vibrant organization that has grown as a reaction to need and opportunity. Initially started as a training center for mentally retarded children only, it now caters to cerebral palsy, autistic, learning disabled, hearing impaired, and children and adolescents with behavioral problems. Celebrating Deepshikha Foundation Day!!!

Today, we celebrate not just the foundation of an institution, but movement of hope, inclusion, and dignity.

For decades, Deepshikha has stood beside children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families, proving that every individual has unique abilities waiting to be nurtured. Every milestone achieved, every smile restored, and every life transformed has been possible because of the unwavering commitment of our students, parents, staff, volunteers, donors, well-wishers, and community partners.

As we mark another Foundation Day, we remember our founders with deep gratitude, honour those who have walked this journey with us, and renew our promise to build a society where every person is valued, respected, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

Thank you to everyone who has believed in our mission. Together, we will continue turning challenges into capabilities.
