We live in a world where convenience often comes first and meal prepping has become a go-to solution for so many of us. It helps us stay on track, saves time, and brings a sense of control to our routines.

But here’s something ancient wisdom has always emphasized

Food is not just physical. It carries energy.

In Ayurveda, freshly cooked food is considered rich in prana the life force that truly nourishes you. As food sits for hours, especially beyond 6 hours, this energy gradually declines.

Over time, regularly consuming stale or reheated food may impact your digestion, weaken your Agni, and create a sense of heaviness not just physically, but energetically too.

This doesn’t mean you need to feel guilty for meal prepping. Life is busy, and we do the best we can

But small, mindful shifts can change everything:
eating fresher meals when possible, avoiding excessive reheating, and adding fresh elements to your plate.

Because nourishment is not just about what you eat
it’s about the life your food carries when it reaches you

This is Halasana, a posture where your body folds deeply inward, naturally guiding your attention away from the outside world and into yourself. It’s a posture of slowing down, softening, and turning inward. You’re not trying to achieve anything here, you’re simply allowing your body and mind to settle.

As you come into this shape, your chin gently moves toward your chest, and without forcing it, you enter Jalandhara Bandha. This is a natural throat lock that happens in the pose. In yoga, bandhas are energy locks that help guide the flow of prana in the body. Jalandhara Bandha works at the throat, gently compressing this area and helping calm the mind, slow the breath, and direct energy inward instead of letting it scatter. It also helps release the poison of falseness and suppressed truth, allowing you to express yourself more purely and authentically. As this space clears, you begin to connect more deeply with your true nature, seeing truth more clearly and embodying it with honesty and ease.

This inward movement begins to affect a deeper layer within us known as the Rudra Granthi, which is located around the Ajna Chakra. This is the knot of the mind, our overthinking, our need to control, and our attachment to thoughts and identity. When this knot is tight, we feel stuck in our head, constantly thinking and unable to fully relax.

Through practices like Halasana, where the body folds, the breath slows, and the senses turn inward, this knot begins to gently soften. You’re not forcing anything to open, but creating the right conditions for the mind to quiet down. Over time, this helps you move from constant thinking into a space of clarity, stillness, and deeper awareness.

And just like its name, Halasana, the plough, this posture also teaches you to prepare your inner ground. A plough doesn’t rush; it patiently turns the soil, making it ready for new life. In the same way, this asana helps you release what is held, soften what is rigid, and create space within. It allows you to embody that steady, patient energy of the plough, preparing your inner field for growth, clarity, and deeper transformation.

In Virabhadrasana, we are not just holding a posture, we are stepping into the spirit of a true warrior. As we ground your feet and consciously engage every muscle of our lower body, our calves, thighs, and glutes, we begin to build a strong, unshakable foundation. This physical steadiness mirrors the inner qualities of a warrior, courage to face what lies ahead, discipline to hold our position, and focus to direct our energy with clarity.

Our gaze becomes steady, breath controlled, and our presence grounded yet alert. A warrior is not aggressive, but deeply aware, protective, and purposeful. In this asana, we learn emotional resilience, the ability to stay rooted even when there is intensity, and to rise again with strength and grace. As the hips open and the body expands, we embody both power and softness, action and stillness.

Virabhadrasana teaches us that true strength is not forceful, it is conscious, balanced, and unwavering. It is the ability to stand our ground, hold our space, and move through life with quiet confidence and compassion.
