A teacher can show you a posture.

Stillness, though, can’t be handed over - you have to arrive there yourself.

So much of what’s known to all of us as Yoga is something that the body does. But the older practice is quieter than that. It’s what stays when the movement stops: the witness behind the thoughts and all motion, the space between two breaths.

Welcome to this initiation - if the arrival here triggered something, for you seek a higher purpose..we know we have one our role; your begins now 🙏

Guru Purnima 🙏

Today, we honour the timeless tradition of the Guru–Shishya parampara and express our deepest gratitude to the teachers who illuminate the path of yoga, wisdom, and self-discovery.

“Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshwarah;
Guruh Sakshat Parabrahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namah.”

Meaning:
The Guru is the Creator, the Preserver, and the Transformer. The Guru is the embodiment of the Supreme Reality. To that revered Guru, I offer my humble salutations.

May we always remain sincere students, walking the path with humility, discipline, and gratitude.

Happy Guru Purnima. 🪔

The Eight Limbs of Yoga, outlined by Sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, provide a complete framework for living with awareness and purpose. The first limb, Yama, forms the ethical foundation of this path. Meaning “restraints,” Yama comprises five universal principles: Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (wise use of energy), and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness). These principles guide our relationships with others and ourselves, encouraging compassion, honesty, moderation, and contentment. By practising the Yamas, yoga becomes more than physical postures, it becomes a conscious way of living, rooted in integrity, balance, and inner harmony.

Our volunteer teacher Shivangi’s discourse gives us all so much inspiration to practice this everyday!

In traditional yoga, props are used to refine alignment, cultivate stability, and develop greater awareness in every posture. Rather than forcing the body into an asana, a yoga block creates the support needed for safe, sustainable progress.

How it helps:
• Support healthy spinal rotation in Parivrtta Trikonasana
• Reduce wrist strain in Chakrasana
• Improve pelvic stability and protect the lower back in Ustrasana

The purpose of a prop is not to make the practice easier, but to make it more precise. When used with understanding, yoga blocks help practitioners build strength, confidence, and proper alignment, creating a foundation for long-term growth.

Sthira Sukham Āsanam 🕉️

“A posture should be steady and comfortable.” Yoga Sutra 2.46

This simple sutra reminds us that yoga is not about achieving the deepest pose. It is about finding balance. Sthira means steadiness and strength, while Sukha means ease and comfort. Every asana should feel stable without tension and relaxed without losing awareness. When the body is balanced, the breath flows naturally, and the mind becomes calm. This teaching extends beyond the mat, encouraging us to face life’s challenges with both resilience and softness. Yoga is not about perfection, it is about being present in every breath and every moment.
