Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama

Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama ashram is dedicated to teaching the subtle aspects of Himalayan Yoga Meditation. Swami Ritavan Bharati is our Spiritual Guide.

Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama (SRSG) Ashram's purpose is to teach and make available the knowledge of yoga meditation within the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters, as interpreted by Swami Rama of the Himalayas and taught by Swami Veda Bharati. Grama means "village" and Sadhaka means "spiritual seeker" in the sanskrit language -thus we are "A village of spiritual seekers devoted to the teachings of Swa

mi Rama of the Himalayas." Built like a beautiful Meditation hill village, our ashram was established by Swami Veda Bharati in 2002. SRSG is dedicated to restoring yoga and meditation to their ancient and traditional purity, yet retaining the same in a modern scientific framework, exploring their application to the modern world, and fulfilling these purposes by training spiritual guides and teachers of international stature. A main focus of the ashram is to share with all who visit the science and philosophy of meditation, and to show how the incorporation of meditation into daily life can allow for greater happiness, peace and satisfaction. We aim to individualize our programs, taking into account the particular areas of interests of our guests, but all newcomers do go through a series of classes that introduce, orient and share the foundation practices and philosophy of the Himalayan Tradition. Our activities include teaching the art and science of Yoga Meditation and carrying out Research and Publications in the field of Yoga Meditation and related branches of knowledge. We are registered in India as a non-profit society. We publish an online newsletter. http://www.ahymsin.org/docs2/News/ Upcoming events can be found at: http://www.ahymsin.org/main/index.php/Upcoming-Events/upcoming-events.html

If my guru and the Lord were to both come to me, I would go to my guru first and say, “Thank you very much. You have introduced me to the Lord.” I would not go to the Lord and say, “Thank you very much, Lord. You have given me my guru.”

Immerse yourself in the boundless love and warmth of Swamiji during this sacred occasion, honoring the Guru Spirit for as long as your heart yearns and your body allows, from your own home.

Swami Ritavan Bharati speaks on the Vasudeva Principle

Our theme for the AHYMSIN global family for 2026-29 will be “vasudeva sarvam”— "That indwelling One is All. There is no other in relation-to, or conditioned-by.”

“I would like to extend again the invitation to continue living in the vasudeva principle, the principle of the in-dweller, the single in-dwelling deity, the in-dwelling force.” – Swami Veda Bharati

As our beloved Swami Veda Bharati has said,
‘What do we mean by the indweller, the indwelling force? One of the many ways, the word “vasudeva” is translated in Bhagavad Gita is the “indwelling deity”. This is closely related to the word “vasu”, meaning, “all places”, for all places are dwelling places of divinity. Vasu is also the “hamsa”, that swan of the universal prana dwelling every-where in every-thing. Vasu-mana is also one of the thousand names of Shiva in the Mahabharata. Vasu-mana means beautiful mind, a mind that dwells as light in Being, and therefore, Vasu is the beautiful, light-filled, indwelling force.

May your mind be vasu-mana. Not this “me”, this little individuated mind, but mind as it is linked to the minds of the whole universe. When one mind-wave meets another mind-wave and a continuum is experienced that is called “mind as an energy field”. One mind-wave meeting another mind-wave in this oceanic-wave-field, and the two become one. When your individual mind touches that universal mind, “samasthi-chitta”, the senses of time and space dissolve. There is a force that acts through the force-field called “mind”, where space and time cease and some other force flows.

The practical application of that is in the principle called ahimsa. Until you learn to practice ahimsa you will never understand what cosmic mind is. You will not understand without the practice of non-violence, because according to the tradition, when you are hurting someone, being angry at someone, you are hurting and harming yourself. Each time people hurt themselves they express any form of violation, and this extends up to the entire cosmic mind, that cosmic mind of which you are a part. That is why among the yamas and niyamas the first yama is ahimsa.’

Day 2 ~AHYMSIN Sangha Gathering 2026 on the theme of Vasudeva Principle”

Yajna and Purnahuti with the Current Sangha Mantra – the Akhanda-mandalakaram Mantra

We now come together during the AHYMSIN Sangha Gathering 2026 at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama Ashram in Rishikesh with over 200 global family members to offer our final japa and practice of the current AHYMSIN Sangha Mantra – the Akhanda-mandalakaram Mantra, dedicated to Gurudeva Shri Swami Rama of the Himalayas.

अखण्ड-मण्डलाकारम् व्याप्तम् येन चराचरम्।
तत्पदम् दर्शितम् येन तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः॥

Akhaṇḍa-maṇḍalākāram vyāptam yena carācaram।
Tat padam darśitam yena, tasmai śrī gurave namah॥

I pay obeisances to Sri Guru, who revealed to me That state, which pervades the entire unbroken circle (of creation), both moving and unmoving.
